First the good things. Very close to the museum area and leides plaza. Generally clean hotel. Helpful with directions and they lent me an umbrella. It rains ALOT in Spring here.
The negatives: hallway had bits and pieces of food tossed around (remember you are paying 300 to 400 a night here), took 2 trips to the front desk and a phone call to get a set of towels--took 15 minutes (remember you are paying 300 to 400 a night here), requested a city view which was more like a view of the next building (remember you are paying 300 to 400 here), parking was way to expensive at 60 dollars a night), and here is the topper----at check in we were asked if we wanted breakfast. We said no and then at check out we were told that we had breakfast. I said we did not and was told by the desk clerk "we have to investigate that." Now, I understand that there are a LOT of scams in Amsterdam (Scamsterdam)--a taxi charged us 40 euros for a 10 min ride from central station to the hotel--but this is marriott and the expectations should go beyond having to worry about whether the hotel is going to try to squeeze out as much as they can . So, you're really not getting a quality marriott experience here.
