If you like a cup of tea DON'T stay at this hotel, no kettle or teabags in the room. The information channel said ask at reception for one which we did but they said they didn't supply them. They could give us hot water from the bar area but as I point out to them you can't wander down in your nightie to get said water to have a nice cup of tea in bed. The bathroom had hairs in the drain.

all perfect apart from location
Location was not brilliant but all other elements were perfect. It was around 10 minutes walk from the nearest metro station and there aren't any shops between the station and the hotel. There is a petrol station near the hotel which has a very limited selection of goods.

Great hotel, decently close to metro. Very nice comfortable rooms. Only downside was that there was a fair amount of construction in the area between the hotel and metro.

Not a convenient place to stay
It’s kind of in the middle of nowhere so no food around and it’s 10 to 15 walk to Metro station depending on which line. Had I done better research, I would have paid more to be somewhere more convenient. Spent a lot of money on Ubers staying out there. The twin beds are ok but come with a lumpy pillow. I only slept well on the nights/mornings I came back exhausted from partying. They only cleaned my room once (my fault for sleeping during the day) but when they did, they didn’t clean the floors around the bed which were kinda sticky and dirty. The restroom and shower was clean though and good strong hot water. 15 euro breakfast is good if you can eat a lot and was good timing for coming back after partying (open 6am to 10am). Room shape is strange so there’s not much of a desk; only a skinny triangular desk.

Just went for new year. Minute beds cover couldnt cover the body and towel was tiny. No charging points or usb cables very basic and staff not friendly.

Really and very awful bad experience with staff. I was denied entry and told no booking reservation and itinerary had existed. I was told there are no record of information even after i proved it to staff on my email and hotel.com app. They said they couldnt find and then told me to leave the property. I felt they were racist and kept telling me i must pay in order to stay eben when i have a booking. I think staff were trying to fleece me. They also said i missed checking in time which was a lie.

How can room not be ready at 10pm at night
Terrible, colleagues arrived at 10pm at night and there room was not ready! The bar and restaurant had ran out of food and drink! Location not good for transport as had to transfer several times to get anywhere central.

Could not breathe in the 1dt room i was given due to a foul sewer smell. When i complained i was made to wait 30mins while the staff just spokw amongst themselves. Second room was better but still seemed to smell and had very thin walls hearing cars, sirens and other hotel guests all day. Left hotel after one night as was unbarable and stayed with friends

The description on Expedia says it’s a smoke free property. Not only is this not true, they told me I had booked a smoking room, which was not the case. The staff was rude and impatient and ask told me I needed to contact Expedia to cancel. Then they sent me an email a day later saying they hadn’t heard from and and if I didn’t check in they would have to cancel…. I did try to check in…. Do you not remember???

Worse stay ever!!
We had a very bad experience with this hotel. We went for a long nice weekend to have a relaxing break we had all the emails saying they was looking forward to seeing us and staying with them and we even checked in as it was a pay when you arrive hotel and I had the confirmation email as well!! We arrived and they said that our booking had been cancelled! I explained and shown them all the emails to say this isn’t right and they said it was cancelled in the morning. This couldn’t of happened as we was flying on the morning. They said they couldn’t do anything and they can’t give us the room back for what we was originally paying instead they charged us €860 when we was only suppose to €340. They didn’t offer to help in any way, we wasn’t from that country and we didn’t know anywhere else and they said we need to pay or leave.

Not the Mercure... But still nice & convenient!
Every time i've visited Amsterdam I have always stayed at the Mercure next door. Due to COVID-19, they were closed and I booked at this place next door. The staff was actually slightly more pleasant than the posh Mercure staff and just as helpful. Free parking is excellent! This a perfect hotel if you want to be away from all of the noise of the city center with the Overamstel metro station right around the corner, 2 blocks down to take you all around Amsterdam. If you have bikes, this is also a very easy 25 minute ride to the city center (AMS is a flat city making biking easier). The AC was cold, and there was coffee and water complimentary. No complaints, I would recommend this for travelers on a tighter budget, maybe not somewhere to take your significant other for a romantic getaway but perfect for a weekend getaway with the boys!

I appreciate that the hotel has a parking garage. The parking spots were very tight though. A negative point was that the light in the bathroom was very weak. This is not ideal when a woman puts on her makeup. The people working there were very friendly.
