Nice hotel near train station.

Pros: Very nice large room and a fine breakfast.
Cons: Leaving a fan in the room for warm days. A hand rail near steps.
Location: Near station, near red light district, near tours, near bike rentals, near restaurants, and near canals
Very nice funky hotel near train station and the older part of town. It was very warm and hotel does not have air conditioning so a bit stuffy. There are a couple of steep steps, but the room was fairly large, clean, and breakfast was fine.

Thanks for your nice review. In The Netherlands it is not common that it is warm, we do have heaters incase it is too cold.. This is the reason we do not have an air conditioning in our rooms. The old historical houses in Amsterdam have steep stairs, the hand rail is for your safety. Hope you enjoyed your stay with us!

Dear, Thanks for the nice review score. Our tropical rooms on the lower floors have access to a small patio garden. Your room still shows the 18th century ceiling beams. Tropical regards, Wimmo

Seriously overpriced

This hotel is seriously overpriced for what is offered. The management and staff try hard but it is just not worth the money. They even add a 3% surcharge if you pay by credit card.

Dear, Our prices are very average for a friendly, clean accommodation with a high review score and located right in the old centre. Of course you see the prices before you book. The price also includes free: welcome drink of choice, city map, a pen, welcome basket with snacks and wine, unlimited quality coffee +tea, breakfast served in your room and fast wifi. Hope you enjoyed your stay

A wonderful place to stay in Amsterdam!

Pros: Everything!
Cons: Can't think of anything!
Location: Short walk from the train station and close to shops and restaurants. It is in the quieter area of Amsterdam. Easy walk to most attractions.
We were greeted by Edson when we arrived and made to feel very welcome and relaxed! He made us a wonderful coffee and then chatted with us, giving us tips for our short stay. We also met the 2 cats! We were given an upgrade which was a very pleasant surprise also! Our room was more than we expected and very, very comfortable. It was warm and inviting, quite and spacious. There was a little welcome pack with wine, biscuits and other yummy things which is a really nice touch. The shower and bathroom are clean and modern. The breakfast was superb and more than enough! If you come to Amsterdam don't miss out on staying here! It is a truly unique and beautiful place to stay! The gorgeous guys who own and run it are an added bonus! Thank you again for making our short trip so wonderful and we will return again to stay.

Pros: As above
Cons: Nothing comes to mind
Location: As above
This B&B was more like a hotel and was super clean. The location was perfect and within 20 minutes walk of all city centre Amsterdam attractions and sites. The breakfasts served in bed were wonderful. We have since recommended this B&B to other people and hope to return there one day.

B & B close the centre

Pros: the locality, minutes walk from central train station, on a quiet street but by just turning a corner you find yourself in the midst of everything
Cons: nothing!
Location: central location, boat tour can be booked for you, Ann Frank House, Dam square, red light district and plenty of bars and cafe's to sit drink + relax
we cannot rate this high enough, anyone wanting their trip to be unique must book with Wimmo and Godwin and the others. They could not have been more welcoming and helpful! Their warm welcome made us feel immediately at home (and we only stayed 1 night). The room we stayed in was unlike any hotel room I have ever stayed in before. Original thoughtful themed décor, well thought out and with everything you may need. A welcome bottle of wine on the table on arrival. A proper coffee machine with cream available, you can ask for milk if you prefer, a kettle for making instant tea and coffee. Plenty of cream pots, coffee, teas and sugar etc. Mini fridge included - no extra charge. Bed was one of the most comfortable I have experienced, and as someone with various aches and pains no small compliment as I never expect to sleep well when away from home. Not a spec of dust to be found. Radio clock alarm next to the bed that is also a docking place so you can use your own device to play music. A Large flat screened TV wall mounted. the Hair Dryer supplied was a well known make and with diffuser, usually I still take my own as hotel ones are usually rubbish - I never even unpacked mine! plenty of electric sockets. Bedside tables on both sides. A settee with throws/cushions. The bathroom was spotlessly clean with a combined toilet/bidet. The bath was large with shower as well.A large bathroom mirror with electric points for shaver/hairdryer. Complementary shower gel and Shampoo.

Convenient Location in Amsterdam

Pros: Friendly staff, clean, decent breakfast.
Cons: Stairs are a hassle, and I worried about what would happen in a fire. Wireless internet was inconsistent.
Location: Good location for exploring central Amsterdam.
Overall positive. Narrow stairs quite a hassle and not at all good for older people or anybody with a physical handicap or a large suitcase. If you don't mind the stairs, the rest was pretty good.

Dear Bob, We are happy to hear that your stay was overall positive. About the stairs, you are right. All the old monumental houses in Amsterdam ( including ours) have steep stairs. We mention this on all booking sites and our own web site. Best regards, Wimmo
