Very nice small hotel right on the canal.Posted Oct 1, 2015
Helpful staff emailed very clear instructions for a 5€ bus from the airport to a stop a 3 min walk away. They helped with luggage & happily recommended sightseeing options that were less cost than what we were looking at. Location very close to restaurants & transpotation.......only a 10 min tram ride to Central Station. Breakfast was well worth 10 €. Room was small but workable & clean & shower just fine. Nice to look out at the canal. Overall, a very comfortable & pleasant way to start our trip.

14 room classicPosted Sep 15, 2015
Pros: The location could not have been any better. Staff were very attentive and chose not to charge for some items that could have been.
Cons: The small front and back rooms should only be booked to singles. There is no room for 2 people to move past each other.
Location: Perfect location! Close to cafes, shops, transportation, canal view. Ended up walking to the museums, central station area and our restaurants.
We were only able to book a "double" because of the broadcasters' convention going on and I would only recommend it for a single traveler. The room is VERY small by US standards (walls on three sides of the double mattress) but our gracious hosts upgraded on our last night to the much larger room and it was heavenly!

Pros: Location and cute cats.
Cons: Almost everything.
VERY tiny room with no room to move around in. A few small, dusty shelves on one wall. The bathroom was also tiny where the shower and toilet are right next to each other. The shower curtain sticks to your back. The room needs repainted as there were spots and nicks of paint coming off the wall everywhere. Bed was too soft and uneven. The floor needs repaired in spots. The steps up and down to the floors are VERY steep and slightly dangerous if you are carrying luggage. Don't go to breakfast near the end of breakfast hours as you are told that you are too late and "my mom has stopped cooking eggs" even though thirty minutes remained in the breakfast time slot.

Bijou & brilliant in a great location.Posted Aug 24, 2015
Superb little hotel with a freindly, family feel. Perfect location, centrally situated for museum district, old city, shopping and food and drink. We stayed on the 3rd floor, wonderful view of canal got even better at night - word of warning, if you don't like stairs it may not be for you! (No lift in this little hotel.) Breakfast was lovely, omelettes or bacon pancakes cooked beautifully and set us up for a long day of walking. Room was smallish - we knew that when we booked it - but well appointed and very clean. We will come back to Amsterdam and book this charming hotel again.

Helpful staff, great location!Posted Jul 11, 2015
This hotel is located close to the major museums and thus is much quieter. Our room was spacious for European standards, modern, and offered a lovely view of the canal and the sunset. The staff were very accommodating in helping us store our luggage for the few days that we were in a cycling trip. Be cautious of the stairs! They can be a little precarious when carting your luggage up and down.

Lovely hotel close to many sights and activitiesPosted Jul 6, 2015
Pros: The friendly staff and the position overlooking the canals. Good eating places and facilities close by.
Cons: Very little, except maybe air conditioning on a very hot day!
Location: Close to canal trips, good cafes, Rijks museum and easy walking to centre.
Very welcoming! Lovely helpful staff. Really nice part of Amsterdam and handy for all the sights. Would definitely go again.

Good hotel in a good locationPosted Jul 5, 2015 on Hotels
Stayed here for 5 days for my stay in Amsterdam. It is located in the museum district which is pretty central and walking distance to everything. 2 things to consider: There is no AC anywhere in the building + they have cats in the hotel (I'm allergic and did not know!). Other then that I would recommend if you're looking for comfort without luxury :)

Nice quiet neighborhood away from the chaos of the red light district, but not a bad walk to get there either. Great proximity to museums and lots of restaurants. Our room was very spacious with a great view overlooking the canal. The staff was extremely polite and helpful.
