Great Location for a group of 5

Posted May 23, 2014
Pros: Clean, good central location, Manager was very helpful!!!!
Cons: Could use a stove and bedroom doors with more privacy.
Location: Very good location close to everything
The place was very clean, modern, newly remodeled (all Ikea) with a nice central location. The manager was very helpful as well as the owner! The only things i feel i should mention is that the widows do not open more than a few inches and the space is small. The kitchen was limited with just a few pots and pans and only a cooktop stove and microwave. 2 of the bedrooms had 2 single beds with glass semi-see through doors that connected to the main living room so not much privacy there. The main bedroom had a large queen bed and was very private. Great for a family or group of friends...not so good for couples traveling together. I would rate it a 4 out of 5.

Great location but poorly managed

Posted Apr 15, 2014
Location: It's a 15 minute walk to central, so no need for public transport. A supermarket is next door and a variety of shops, restaurants, pubs nearby. Living room: If a light sleeper, the blinds covering windows were thin so alot of sunlight came through when guests were sleeping as there is a double bed and sofa bed in the living room. Kitchen: Landlady explained the bin men only come Fridays and Mondays so piles of binbags were in the apartment until check out. Bedroom: The corner double bed, may have had bed bugs or some insect living nearby as two guests were constantly bitten at night. When explaining it to the landlady, she advised there's no problem and it was Mosquitos, which I would have believed if all the guests staying had been bitten. No apology or part refund was offered. Toilet: 1 bathroom wasn't sufficient for 8 people, I think 5 people max. Strange to have two showers in the bathroom unless staying with loved ones. Theres no window, so noises or foul odours can be smelt in the bedroom. Landlady was quite rude and emailed us 4 days before our flight asking for €200 cash deposit ontop of total amount. Wasn't made clear on check in arrangements as we had a late arrival flight - staff quite unfriendly

Decent apartment

Good size apartment - kitchen well-stocked. Bathroom basic but fine. Stayed with family for 3 nights; quiet at night. Mini-supermarket next to apartment. Very very steep stairs. Free wi-fi. TV showing Dutch channels plus BBC

Really close to everything you would want to see

We arrived at a thursday evening and were greeted by a very sweet girl who showed us to our apartment in the middle of the main street Vijzelstraat. The apartment were for four people, it was not too big, but clean, had nice interior, big windows with great view out to the street and the girl told us everything we had to know about what was close and where we should go etc. Good service. Most importantly, this apartment was 5 min away from Rembrandtsplein with all the clubs, it was surrounded by restaurants and had a bike rental just over the street which I absolute recommend!! Loved the place :)
