Great locationPosted Sep 30, 2015
Pros: Location and large room.
We walked from our river cruise dock and were able to check into our room at 10:30 AM. The room had everything that we needed as well as a complimentary mini bar. We were able to walk to all of the sites that were of interest to us. We did not eat at the hotel but there were many restaurants nearby. At the end of our stay we walked to the train station with two large suitcases. I would definitely stay here again.

Good StaffPosted Sep 27, 2015
Pros: The old feel of going back in time to luxury.
Cons: Lounge area a little fomal.
Location: Location perfect for getting to all the amenities we came from the airport by train , the hotel was a 15 min walk no problems.
We enjoyed our stay in Amsterdam. The staff were always attentive to our needs and when we needed anything sorted it was done with no fuss. Hotel lovely and great atmosphere.

Good location only!Posted Sep 26, 2015
The hotel is in a good location - just a few minutes walk from the train station and the restaurant/nightlife areas. The room itself was nice and clean however very limited in storage. I would say this hotel is more 4* than 5* just on its room facilities. We found the service at the hotel to be lacking. On our first day a member of staff walked into our room and lets just say it was a good job my husband managed to get to him quickly, as I was not prepared to meet people!! On day three we came back from shopping and our room door had been left open (after being cleaned). We also had to chase coffee refills every day. We won't be going back.

Pros: quirky but elegant
Location: near to central station - on busy main road but our rooms were at the back of the hotel so we didn't hear any traffic noise
A lovely old building with beautiful original features - stained glass, close to the central station - lovely staff and breakfasts - very welcoming

Assolutamente consigliabilePosted Sep 23, 2015
Cons: Non saprei che cosa poter suggerire.
Location: Ottima posizione, comoda a tutto!
Stanze comode, pulite, molto curate. Ottimi i servizi offerti (minibar gratuito e macchina per caffè e tisane). Tutto molto positivo.

Convenient for all forms of Public TransportPosted Sep 23, 2015
Pros: The staff were pleasant
Cons: The sound reduction to some rooms. Hot water control for the showers.
Location: Located close to Amsterdam's main station and other transport facilities.
Initially we were allocated a room on the ground floor which was close to a main road which remained noisy through the night. On request we were moved to another room. The first room was rather small for two people and there was very little storage space for clothes, thus if like ourselves you were staying for 7 days you had to live out of your suitcases. The second room was a little bigger and had a little more storage space. The rooms were in good condition with a spacious bathroom, although the shower was likely to turn from stinging hot to chilly cold within a second! There was a free mini bar, there was a pool and gym. There were plenty of staff who all spoke good English and were polite and helpful. This was our first stay in a 5 star hotel in Europe and we had expected that little hiccups would be minimal, e.g. our room was not cleaned and made one day, and on one occasions we had to call for cups to use the tea making facilities and another time for face flannels. But any problems were sorted quickly.

Grand Amrath AmsterdamPosted Sep 22, 2015
Pros: Tall ceilings with dual aspect windows providing natural light. Old world charm with thick walls and a comfortable bed.
Cons: Only thing that could be improved on was possibly a more up to date television but this is a minor issue as we were out most of the time.
Location: 5 minutes walk from central station with most attractions within walking distance.
Very friendly staff , with a free mini bar providing water , soft drinks , beer and wine.
