Nice central hotelPosted Aug 26, 2015
Pros: Everything from the location to the staff to the room itself
Location: Close to the red light district and close to tourist attractions
It was a grew experience from check in to check out. The staff were polite and explained everything also the hotel is central and only 10 mins walk from dam square central station. Mini bar always refilled and towels always replaced.

Trip to AmsterdamPosted Aug 25, 2015
Pros: It has lots of charecter but then so does Disney
Cons: Our room and I suspect most others are in need of a refurb
We have stayed at the Amrath before and loved it but that was 5 years ago. It's gone downhill I'm afraid! The wardrobe door nearly fell off which we reported to staff three times and it was still hanging off when we left with the usual apology. The shower hose holder also came off. We had to ask for a hairdryer and robes which are supposed to be in the room. The beds are terrible they have a raised wooden surround so unless your good at pole vaulting it's going to hurt because they are almost thigh high and very difficult to get in and out of and would be impossible for older guests. So we won't be staying there again.

Historic Hotel, great location.Posted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: Location, Wellness centre, Bedrooms.
Cons: The Ground floor could be improved to give the hotel a focal point but this is a small criticism.
Location: Location is great near the station, the main departure area for the canal boats and bustle of the bars and restaurants around the red light district.
This hotel is a converted building leading to an unusual layout. Upstairs this is fine (once you remember where your room is!) But downstairs the Lobby is small and the layout a little awkward. The bar was pleasant place for Gin and Tonic. The beds were amazingly comfortable and the location is quiet. The Wellness centre was really nice although the steam room was not very steamy. This hotel is the complete opposite of a soulless chain hotel, which is a good thing and a bad thing!

overly expensive for service and qualityPosted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: General location
Cons: Tear it down and start all over, including trained personnel.
Location: Center of town, Take it from there.
Poor service (one lonely exception). Doorman did not assist us to haul our suitcases up many stairs and generously offered to put them in a trolley when we finished the hard work. Tiny lobby check in area, crowded by waiting families with many suitcases and children, no chairs. Registration a hustle. Old hotel that needs to be overhauled, from bottom up, literally. Room with few or any perks. Room undone for two days.

Ottimo fuori, dentro ...Posted Aug 19, 2015
Siamo stati 4 notti in questo albergo. Arrivati in camera, hanno portato le trolley dopo 30 min. Tenda con gancio rotto per 4 gg. Aria condizionata sempre attiva e puntata sul letto. Finestroni sigillati. Armadi poco capienti, le trolley come armadi. Ciliegina finale: ultimo giorno senza carta igienica in camera.

Excellent hotel right in the centre of Amsterdam.Posted Aug 17, 2015
Pros: Nice spa facilities with a little pool and a couple of saunas. and free minibar.
Location: Great location in the centre of things.
Amazing hotel with helpful staff. Massive rooms with beautiful arcitecture throughout. We were upgraded to a Suite which was almost too big. It was amazing with a giant comfortable bed and great facilities.

Excellent hotel and locationPosted Aug 17, 2015
Pros: The hotel was beautiful and conveniently located. Service was exceptional.
Cons: No suggestions
Location: Great location that was a short distance from all of the action and noise. A 5 minute walk to cafes, red light district, taverns, coffee shops, etc.
The Amrath Hotel was beautiful and the service exceptional. It was in walking distance to most tourist interests and shopping. We were there for only one night and did not eat in the hotel's restaurant so I cannot provide a recommendation on the food. Many cafes are within a 5 minute walk.

Classic older building - very nicePosted Aug 17, 2015
The hotel was a little bit dated in a few places which I suspect is due to restrictions on renovations they face but overall it was an excellent property and a wonderful place to stay. The location is excellent and the architecture is fantastic.
