Enjoyed the stay and helpful staff. Very convenient to the main areas of the city and transportation. Room was nice, beds a bit small but ok. I would recommend this hotel to travelers.

The hotel was adequate and clean. The stall especially Nikki ( young lady from Argintina) was very helpful and nice. The hotel was located within an easy walk to the tram and museums. As a whole the streets of Amsterdam were very dirty, so was the street the hotel was located on. Breakfast was ok but a little on the expensive side but convienent.

Great hotel
A lovely quiet and clean hotel, very conveniently located to the city centre and transportation links to the airport. Would definitely stay here again.

No a/c was difficult to overcome. The open windows provided some comfort but that led to mosquito bites. The location was good as it was quiet and still near trams and walkable. The room was on the small side.

Hotel Alexander is located in a quiet (yet full of other hotels) tree lined street right next to Vondelpark, which is the most stunning park in Amsterdam. The hotel is clean, the rooms are fairly sized, and everything is renovated. The only thing I’d say is not worth it is having the hotel breakfast.

Perfect historic small hote
Hotel Alexander was a delight. Modest rooms with everything ones needs, Clean, blackout curtians, good windows that open, great WiFi. This historic hotel is well located a tiny bit away from the crazy zones. Lots of nearby local transportaion only a block or so away. Walk to the Museum zone, many restaurants nearby. The staff was great, the breakfasts delicious and plenty to eat. The back garden area is a treat. I would stay again.

Cosy and chic stay in Amsterdam
A good hotel which offers great value for money in Amsterdam. Rooms are cosy, stylish and quiet with good quality furnishings and a nice bathroom. Staff are helpful and friendly. Some nice extra touches - a little tray of biscuits in the room, a free coffee machine at reception and a case of books for guests to borrow. The hotel is in walking distance of museums and canal cruises, and an easy 15 minute tram trip from the central station

Staff was very helpful. Location was very nice. Outside of hotel had character. Room had some issue that didn't affect affect our enjoyment, but could use an update and minor repairs.

Very helpful staff and right in the Leidseplein neighborhood, where there are plenty of things to do and places to eat. The hotels offers a full breakfast and coffee 24/7 as well.

It was fine for the price. Slightly outside of the center of the city but I had no issues walking or using public transportation to get where I needed to go. Building itself is old and in general a bit shabby. Room was very small but that’s standard for such an old building in Amsterdam. Bed was very comfortable but I did feel like the carpet in my room could have been cleaner. There was a fan in the room which required an American outlet which was weird, but fine since I had a converter. Super convenient that they offer free coffee all day in the lobby.

Sweet little boutique hotel in a quiet neighborhood. It’ll cost you about $40 euros to get to most of the downtown spots, so be aware that it will add up.

Friendly staff and clean rooms near the center of Amsterdam! There's a little outdoor patio area and a cute little indoor lounge for coffee and other hot drinks. Greatly enjoyed my stay here!

Lovely stay.
Our stay was great overall. Great location, loved the chilled vibes the hotel had. Great addition of the free hot drinks and water in the reception. The staff were all very polite. Only slight issue we had was when other rooms near us shut their doors our whole room shuddered and peoples morning alarms on their phones we could hear too. I understand and appreciate it’s an old building but very early in the morning it would wake us up. Very clean room. Would happily go again.

Pros: Nice location in a quiet area, walkable to sights, near the Vondelpark/Museum quarter. Small hotel in a historic building. The lobby was well decorated, and offered delicious coffee/hot chocolate for free 24/7. Beds comfortable. Staff friendly. Cons: the room itself was very cramped- barely large enough for 2 people and their luggage. Room decor was very basic, and the bathroom shower did not seem so clean. Dirty carpet too.

Excellent location near Vondelpark and the Museum Quarter on a quiet street. Plenty of dining options nearby. Note that they do not serve breakfast, although they have a great coffee machine.
