This is not a 3 star hotel 2 star would be generous. Longer walk from train station when raining. Noise from construction and loud banging sounds each morning from staff. Good for a night or two if saving money is key.

Great Amsterdam location, easy 5 minute walk to Leisdeplein, shopping, eating and bars. Rooms have windows that open and they have an elevator!

A sweet little hotel tucked right off easy access to many popular destinations. Beds were narrower than typical “American” twin sized, but plenty long. Small issues with key cards and wifi, but front desk staff were very helpful in sorting things out.

Similar to a hostel, but much more expensive!
So incredibly expensive for an incredibly poor service. We had so many issues, none where solved. The toilet was faulty, the air-con did not and nor did the wifi. They refused to provide us with any kind of refund and it transpired that they were aware of the issues before we complained and before we even arrived, but still took nearly €1000 of my money

The hotel is as advertised. Check-in and check-out staff were very friendly. Mini fridge, full bed (was worried based on the 2 separate blankets in the photo it might be two twins pushed together), good water pressure in the shower. Quiet. I especially loved my window - great light, trees/pretty apartments outside, opened a little bit for fresh air without letting rain in. I was a woman traveling alone and felt very safe in the neighborhood and in the building, even at night - I barely had to turn off the busy street to get into the building. Close to the Rijk Museum, a nice large park, bike rental, post office, restaurants, tram. Pretty much right across the street from the canals. I was a little wary because the photos online were posted by the hotel in 2018 and the price was low, but my room was pretty much in the same condition (maybe a few marks on walls, etc). Elevator was out of order while I was there, but they gave me advanced notice and offered free cancellation. Stairs very steep, but that was okay for me.

The hotel is certainly conveniently located, with access to trams, to the Museumplein, to the Leidseplein, etc. all right at hand. The one-person staff was very friendly, and she even stayed late when we were delayed in our arrival. She was excellent. It was the most I've ever paid for a hotel room ($300 ), so it was particularly disappointing and frustrating that the shower was so weak (a trickle, really) as to be unusable. I know European showers are fundamentally different than American ones, but it's against a bunch of experience with European showers that I say this one was particularly bad.

I have no difficulty recommending this hotel. It’s conveniently located within walking distance of a tram stop and there is a good variety of pubs, restaurants and cinemas nearby. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

My husband and I stayed in the Hotel d'Amsterdam from the 11th to the 14th November 2019. Our first night was anything but satisfactory as the floor boards in the room above us creaked continuously when someone walked on them This continued for many hours from 5.45 a.m. We reported to Reception the next morning and Christina at Reception was very apologetic. We were given another room which was very comfortable and we would definitely return and stay here again. The breakfast was basis but we only ate there one morning. Christina at Reception was extremely helpful and pointed out several places of interest, including which trams/trains or buses to get. Hotel d'Amsterdam is well situated for getting to Museums, Bars and Restaurants. There is an excellent transport system in Amsterdam.

Service was great, very friendly. However three single bed configuration for our family was too small and beds not that comfortable. Bathroom very tight. If you sat on toilet you could bump head when getting up. We had to leave when bathroom ceiling started to leak after rain. We were top floor. But got prompt refund for our unused time. In all, great location but over priced for the accommodation. Friendly staff.

Hotel location was great for our purposes, The day time receptionist, unfortunately forgot her name, was very friendly, accommodating and informative. Breakfast was purchased one morning and it was excellent and reasonably priced. Hotel building is old with compact facilities but adequate with many upgrades. Bus 397 can be caught reasonably close to hotel which provides very good connection to the airport.

Not a bad hotel was a little overpriced but Amsterdam is generally overpriced anyway, Room was clean but showing a little wear and tear. Whilst we could leave our luggage would have been nice if it had been kept in a locked cupboard rather than stored in the dinning area. apart from that no real problems. twenty minute walk to Dam square and ten to 15 minutes to main shopping area.
