Great Location, Simple but Sweet Room and Service

Me and my girlfriend have stayed at the Hotel Internationaal 3 times now. Obviously the great location stays the same, however, the room size and facilities can change a lot depending on which room you are given when you arrive (we've stayed in 3 different rooms). For the price I would say this cannot be beaten and is perfect for anyone who mainly needs to use the hotel as a home base, it is close to the train station and pretty much everything else as well. We'll definitely be staying there again!

This place was great for my hubs and I. Super great location- close to all night life and tourist attractions and also close to the train station. Super safe place. It's small but it's exactly what you need and its a great price. I was skeptible about the shared bathroom but it was no problem! Was really clean and never busy. The bar downstairs is so fun too! Spent a whole night there!

Terrible facilities, could sleep at night - bed bugs all throughout, expensive for what it is (and I wasn't expecting luxury!), staff are completely unhelpful and unfriendly - the manager was speaking ill of me behind my back thinking I couldn't speak dutch! Would definitely go nowhere near this "hotel" ever again. If you have the choice, stay somewhere else!!!

Nice hotel close to metro

Went at the beginning of this month and had a blast. The hotel is a short walk from the metro from the airport. It's in a great location although it is loud and sometimes hard to sleep. The staff is amazing and overall we really enjoyed our stay :)

Honest accommodation

It is as described by other viewers. Steep stairs, noisy, small and basic. But very centrally located for food areas, city and station and comfortable bed .... Make sure you use the provided earplugs. Honest accommodation at moderate price.

Handy for late night arrivals in Amsterdam...

Pros: Staff were very friendly. Good price.
Cons: Guests in adjacent room were v.noisy - despite ear plugs (supplied by hotel) so would be good if hotel could remind guests to come in and out quietly
Location: Centrally located handy for the station
Booked this hotel because was arriving into Amsterdam late and needed somewhere with late check in (until 1am) and close to station (5 mins) and cheap! Staircase was steepest I have ever seen (slightly scary with a suitcase) Room was fine though very weird shape (beds at angle to each other)

Convenient over brilliant bar rooms

5 out of 5

It's a shared bathroom hotel above a bar. As an easygoing 20 year old it was heaven on earth. It was within walking distance of everything you could possibly want to see if you like a mile or 2 walk. And it was within 5 minutes of the central station which was a surprising 20 minutes from the airport. The staff was incredibly friendly and the bar was really cozy: Though the stairs up to the room would almost constitute as a ladder. We showed an adorable 50 something couple how to get to the hotel that they were coincidentally staying at. And we almost pitied them in a way. But honestly it could be for anyone if they don't value hearing lengthy drunken conversations in the middle of the night or sharing a toilet. And for the price and convince it really shouldent matter. Cheers enjoy your stay

Perfect Location

Perfect location central to Amsterdam. Rooms are small, but all we really need was a place to sleep. Hotel was able to provide an iron and blow dryer and even refrigerated some beers we'd bought at a store right night. Will definitely stay at this location again.

Perfect base

The hotel is above a bar in a very busy area (they supply earplugs!), but the staff were SO friendly, and the hotel is only a few minutes walk from the Central Station (where you can also hire bikes). It was a really good location, but the rooms were a little cramped and very hot at night.

Small hotel close to station and Walletjies area

Pros: Location
Cons: The room furniture, bathrooms, stairs (not sure it could be done in an old building such as this
Location: Close to the station, and the Walletjies.
The hotel is in a good location, easy to reach by foot from the central station. The reception is in the bar, and the entrance is next door. The stairs, as in old Dutch buildings, are very steep, and very difficult to negotiate with a heavy suitcase. Our rooms were on 2nd and 3rd floors - quite a process to get your lugage to your room. The rooms were clean, but the layout was long outdated - the bed was boxed in, with a very dificult ridge surrounding the mattress. No aircon, and street noisy with the small windows open - there were earplugs in the room! The shower and toilet are also old, but worked. If you are looking for an overnight close to the station at a reasonable price, and you are fit enough to do the stairs wirh your lugage, and you only want the bare basics, this hotel is OK.
