Very nice boutique hotel and very convenient!

Posted Jul 20, 2017
Pros: Location, spaciousness, convenience, appointments.
Cons: Lighting in bathroom at vanity a little dim.
Location: Very close to museums, restaurants, shopping etc. Nicely located just outside busy city center, but quieter and just as convenient.
Wonderful stay at Hotel Notting Hill! We were in Amsterdam for four days. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. Larger than I had anticipated for a European hotel. The bed was listed as a "double" but was definitely the size of a king sized bed in the USA. The only downside to the room was the lighting in the bathroom was dim at the vanity, so it was a little difficult seeing in the mirror to get ready, but everything else was wonderful!

On No. 4 tram route

Posted Jul 13, 2017
Pros: superior room, but the bathroom floor is lethal when wet.
Location: Handy for the drop on/off bus and canal tours
Nice hotel with comfortable rooms. It is a bit too far to walk to the centre but the trams a re very convenient and run frequently. Best to buy a pass for 2,3,4,5 days. No need to go into town to eat. Go out of the hotel, cross the bridge and there are loads of choices.

Hotel is between museums and shopping!

Posted Jun 5, 2017
Pros: Modern. Clean. Easy to walk to many places. Liked that you needed your key to access the elevator.
Cons: Wifi. Breakfast.
Location: Close to museums, street market, restaurants and shopping district.
Stayed two nights. Some minor glitches with computers not working to charge breakfast and wifi availability in rooms. Rooms are very nice and modern. Beds comfortable. Room designed for tall people. Peep hole in door about one foot above my head. Could not see in the vanity bathroom mirror. Nice shower. No cream rinse! Very quiet..I was on third floor at the back of the building. Room is close to a great street market and walkable to museums. Great location if you learn to use the tram system. Staff professional and helpful. Restaurant just ok, but they give you free drink coupons. I would stay again. There are about 6 or 7 steps up to entrance. There is a lift for ADA access.

Tram stops at the door

Posted Jun 5, 2017
Modern hotel close to shops and restaurants of Utrechtsestraat and on number 4 tram route from main station. Comfortable, modern room with Nespresso machine, large TV and well equipped shower room. Staff at reception particularly helpful, booking restaurants, tickets for museums etc and giving directions.

lovely and elegant hotel

Posted May 13, 2017
very clean modern hotel in a convenient location, # 4 tram outside of hotel , museums within walking distance, great big supermarket less than 5 minutes walk as is the Albert Cuype market. it's far from the madding crowds which is a plus when trying to sleep , yet close enough to most attractions via tram or by foot. Amsterdam is a great city to explore by foot, just watch out for the the bike riders. if possible ask for a room at the back of the hotel, canal rooms have the view but the ones at the back are quieter. loved the shower, the free mini bar stocked with soft drinks and potato chips, just the right touch that welcomes a guest. will stay there again if in town.

Nice hotel, well located

Posted May 11, 2017
Pros: See above
Cons: See anove
Location: We discovered the great large flea market which is a few blocks from th hotel. It is open daily from 9
Nice small hotel, well located to local transportation. Excellent staff, friendly, competent and very helpful. The deluxe hotel room we booked was acceptable. Very pleasant to get free pringles, bottles of water, juice and pepsis which are replenished daily. The lobby and restaurant are nicely decorated. Did not eat in the restaurant, but it looked good, although not reasonably priced. Did have a small cup of coffee for €3.50 ( the same size and kind we can perk in our room in the machine provided). We were not happy to notice that the bathroom door does not lock. It remains ajar as there is not latch or lock to close it as a bathroom door is usually closed for privacy. The staff stated that they are all like that as it is a design? Above the sink there is a shelf where nothing can be placed because it is not flat, it tilts so anything put on the shelf falls. The small refrigerator in the cabinet is not bolted to the floor of the cabinet, so when it is opened it moves all over the inside of the cabinet. Hopefully these few constructive points will call the attention of the management to make the corrections. These are simple to fix and it would make a big difference.

Nice place with a good restaurant and bar in the hotel. Our room was below street level. would have preferred on upstairs however it was tulip season and was lucky to get this.
