Perfect location in a beautiful spot

Posted Mar 30, 2016
Pros: Everything. There were broken things, awfully upright stairs, small toilet room, but I enjoyed it all.
Cons: Fix the little things in each room. My sons room had a chest of drawers that had 6 bare screws poking out and 2 actual knobs.
Location: Situated right next to a canal and bridge, the hotel is easy to find tucked away next to a couple of cafès.local shops and music store.
Situated right next to a canal and bridge, the hotel is easy to find tucked away next to a couple of cafès. There are local shops and beautiful architecture everywhere. The hotel itself is quaint, quirky and surprisingly homely. My room was on the 3rd floor, which I think was the top. The stairs up to the 2nd floor are tight and narrow and spiralling. The other 'stairs' are more like a ladder with carpet on. My son laughed at me, after a long days walking I had to literally drag myself up all the stairs to get to my room! The room itself was a single, the space was plenty for one person. There was a small sink with shelf above, built in cupboard and wonderful cosy bed. A tv was mounted on the ceiling. There was a small drawer unit and a fold down table. It was good enough for me. Over the next few days, I realised that he pedal bin foot was broken and was being rested back on the bin each day by the cleaners. The mattress kept slipping off the base when I rolled over, and when you tried to wash your face in the sink, you had to literally put your head under the shelf and into the sink. When I attempted to open the table out, 2 of the the screws came out of the wall! I had to laugh, really. All of these little quirks made me like the hotel more actually, as it was so normal I felt right at home!

Although the room was clean n comfy, we were allocated different buildings even though it was one booking of two rooms. No apologies received from the staff for the inconvenience .

Hotel was being renovated. Not cool.

Posted Feb 13, 2016 on Hotels
Everything was fine until I was woken early in the morning by workmen banging and drilling right outside my room. If a hotel is being renovated it should not be taking bookings, or at least it should not do loud work until after check-out time.
