Close to the station, so easy to access. - The hallways to the rooms are very dark with dim lighting. When you enter the room you have to insert the card into the slot to get electricity - it's impossible to see the slot if it's dark out and there's no light coming in through the windows.

Just returned from my stay here and I had the best time. The hotel was comfortable, clean and in a convenient location from getting around Amsterdam as it’s very close to the station. The staff were so helpful they really went the extra mile to make me feel welcome and catered for. I want to give a special thank you to Mohammed & the other members of the front desk team who helped me when my flight was cancelled and managed to accommodate me at the last moment. You honestly really helped me in a very tricky situation and I’m extremely grateful. Thank you again & I’ll see you again soon 😊

I have nothing but compliments to this hotel,as soon as myself and my partner arrived we were greeted by beyond helpful employees who even let us check in early.The location is right beside the station which makes it so easy to travel.Cleanliness was 10/10 and was beyond our expectations.I would definitely recommend and visit again.

We had a great stay at this hotel. We were in Amsterdam for 4 days, 3 nights and I could not recommend a better hotel. The hotel is just outside Sloterdijk train station, which is one stop away from Schipol airport, which is so convenient when you have baggage with you ! Check in was very fast, and all of the staff were well mannered and always eager to offer advise to us. This was very helpful considering this was out first time in the city. The room was just about the right size for two people, with a very nice bathroom. Breakfast is great too, we got it with our package and definitely recommend as there is a very large range of foods and drinks. I would recommend getting the three day pass on transport as we saved loads of money getting around the city. Thank you Mercure Sloterdijk!

The property has many amenities, including a laundry. The only downside is the distance from the main area's of Amsterdam. By UBER it's about a 30min drive. If you're planning on using public transportation and don't know Dutch it can really be challenging.

Hotel has a good location, right next to Sloterdijk station, supermarket is also there. Friendly staff. We were satisfied with the room, but the garbage cans were not always emptied. The windows could not be opened and even with the windows closed you could hear the noise from outside as if the window was open. Unfortunately, no Netflix on the TV (button on the remote control available, but does not work). WC on the reception floor was broken.

This hotel is right next to Sloterdijk station which means getting to/from airport and Centraal by train is fast and easy. But getting to other locations within Amsterdam using train, bus or tram is trickier - so rented bike or Uber is recommended. We found it much cheaper than four star hotels in the centre of town. I found the cleanliness less than I would expect from a Mercure hotel with (for example) thick dust on some parts of the carpet. When we arrived in the room there was a fault with the lighting which resulted in several days of asking for a fix, including miscommunications. After three days of failing to fix the lights we were given a new room. Restaurants near the hotel close early, and they aren’t great. Don’t rely on getting a decent meal near the hotel, much better choices elsewhere in Amsterdam.

I had $1000 AUD and two gold earrings stolen by housekeeping. BE CAREFUL!!! You have been warned. Always carry your valuable items on you. I had the worst experience with this hotel. The housekeeping boy came to "clean" my room when I went to breakfast, I saw him leave my room when I came back. After getting back to my room I noticed my items missing. Later that day, my room was entered. When I had left for the day, I put a glass behind the door and took a picture, then displayed the 'Do Not Disturb' option on the door. When I came back, the glass was out of its place, meaning someone entered my room. It was very uneasy to think of what was done in my room. Hotel management didn't look at CCTV, or check who entered my room. The manager, Mitzy, didn't help the situation at all. I was told that there was "nothing they could do", and to "cut my losses".

The location is ideal if you want to stay in one place and see Amsterdam as well as surrounding cities. You can get anywhere conveniently from Sloterdijk station across the street. The only amenity that is missing is a microwave.

The hotel is fine, but if you are traveling here on a European vacation this is barely Amsterdam. We chose it because all the reviews said "it's one easy train stop away from Amsterdam Central Station," which is true... but then it's a 30-40 minute walk from there to anything you want to see. If you only have two days and want to spend one visiting the windmills and another visiting Amsterdam then this is a convenient location between the two. But if you want to be able to walk easily around the Amsterdam that you imagined this is not where you want to stay. It's a 30 minute trip every time you want to go anywhere in town. We also booked a family room for 4 and it was not as pictured on the site. There was barely space to walk or put anything. Otherwise the hotel was fine, just not what we were hoping for. But on the bright side it did have nice staff, a decent gym, a few good cafes nearby and air conditioning!
