Everything was really good except that the hotel doesn’t have AC and only has a central cooling system. For rooms that face into the sun all afternoon and evening this means the room is like a sauna.

The location is the best part of the hotel. Two of the main trams to/from the central station and to other parts of amsterdam was great! The park in front was good and we could walk and hang in the benches in the park. I liked that the hotel was not too large so no need to walk too far from the elevators to the room. Room size was large for Europe and comfortable for two people with lots of luggage.

Prime location, convenient walking for all nearby sights of interest. Breakfast buffet was lovely, and special requests were instantly accommodated. Concierge extremely helpful for all transit and ticket requests. A LOT of noise at night from the pubs and clubs nearby, until sunrise. There appeared to be occasional housekeeping staff shortages, but the staff themselves were meticulous.

Love the location but be aware it has lots of nightclubs on its door step so if you get a square facing room you have to deal with noise 24/7

The staff were lovely & so helpful! There are lots of restaurants & bars in the area, and trams 4 and 14 stop right in front of the hotel. My room looked right out on the square, and I was a bit nervous that it would be noisy; it is with the window open, but once you close the window, it's very quiet. I would definitely go back here.

Great service and clean rooms. There were sleepers, bath robes, bottle of water for us. Be mindful with room you book as some are facing the square and it might get loud if it’s during weekend parties. Convenient location, an easy walk to any part of old Amsterdam. Breakfast is buffet with good options including fruits, eggs, bacon and sausages, cold cuts, cheese, pastries, juices and coffee/tea.

The communication prior to our stay was great, our room was lovely and the staff really helpful. The location was perfect for us - we were a brief walk away from everything we needed, and right in the centre of a lovely square with some bars in.

we were welcomed and upgraded to a lovely room with the view of rembrant square. the staff were very helpful and accommodating. tram station is right outside the hotel and there you have the freedom to access amsterdam easily in any direction. it is less touristy which is a plus as there isnt alot of crowds. there is bars and restaurants close by also, sometimes abit noisy from the music but not so disturbing when windows are closed for sound proofing. we will definitely return and stay at the hotel again!

Overall good stay
The lady on reception was lovely and let us check in early in another room that was available. She did mention this room had no opening window, however it could really use one as the rooms are so warm we just needed some fresh air and the air conditioning wasn’t working well. Overall was a great stay, could have been cleaner but overall it was good

We have just returned home from a wonderful stay in Amsterdam. The hotel was clean, staff helpful, ideal location with restaurants around you and an ice rink right outside. My partner wasnt keen on the twinbeds being pushed together but other then that it was delightful and i couldnt fault it.

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the last 10 years. It is a hotel, and only that. It is in a nice location with lots of restaurants and activities and public transportation. But there is nothing interesting about the hotel itself. No "extras". The room refrigerator does not work. The room rates are high. The wifi is largely useless.

I have been in other NH properties which I loved but this particular one was a disappointment. I communicated to the hotel management We were paying an extra night even though we were arriving the next morning (I specified the time on the message) (Im sure it was read because it was through Expedia so it has that feature that let you know if message was seen, but the person in charge ignored it and cancelled my reservation due to “no show”, so when we got there after a very long flight and commute our room wasn't ready. Clerck made us wait until she review the case and request authorization from someone to rebook. They did but increasing the rates which was upsetting. When they finally gave us the room it has a very unpleasant strong and disgusting dirty armpit smell mixed with cigarette smell. Horrible! On top of that we were not informed and it isnt described anywhere that the restaurant area is out of the building across the street. (Which can be but wasnt what we were exlecting) After all this I found it as a really bad experience so I requested a refund and moved to a beautiful NH Collection Doelen we found two blocks from this one.

NH Caransa- we’ll be back
Really nice hotel, amazing location. Although on the hectic and joyful Rembrandtplein, but the room was really quiet. Friendly and helpful staff. There was an issue with the mattress on the first night, but the staff took care of it in an hour after being reported. No adjustable AC, but we got a fan which was fine. Great breakfast in the NH Schiller just across the street.

The staff were extremely friendly. We were offered a complimentary breakfast plus a taxi ride back to the airport sine the room we ordered was not avialble. Very equitable. The beds were clean and very comfortable. Great location in the city center. The trams was just in front of the hotel. The internet connection is extremely slow. You may be able to check email but not much else.

This is the second time we are staying at your hotel and the fifth time in the NH hotel chain. We want to thank you for the wonderful hospitality. The people at the reception of the hotel are very kind, very nice, always smiling, always ready to help. We would especially like to mention Mrs. Charlene from the reception for exceptional service and courtesy. Also, it is worth noting that the rooms were clean, the accessories in the rooms are very good. Also the breakfast we ate at nh Schiller was very good (the dining room at our hotel was closed) We have one small note, in our opinion you should put earplugs in rooms whose facade to Rebrent Square since on weekends there is noise from the street. We highly recommend your hotel

I loved the room size and the cleanliness. The shower was also amazing. Receptionists were very helpful and professional. The location is amazing just off the tram stop and in the very centre. The only issue is the noise of the square below as it was Saturday people made noise and we could not sleep even being on the fourth floor with double glazed window. Get a room facing the back if you stay here. Also the room was hot, could not open windows and a/c didn’t work. Please note breakfast is in the hotel on the other side of the square which they do not say when you book

Great location and service but small rooms
Great area, well surrounded by restaurants and pubs. However, rooms are a bit small for a 4-star hotel.
