Hotel central to tourist routes

Posted Dec 22, 2016
Pros: It's location; ideal for anyone who collects vinyl as it's close to Concerto and many others.
Cons: Cleanliness! I had to ask the cleaning staff to wash my bath as a "grime rim" was still visible!
Location: It's between two of the main waterholes, Rembrandt & Leidse - plein.
The hotel is convenient as a base to visit the many flea markets, CD/vinyl outlets which was my main reason for visiting Amsterdam.

City centre location.

Posted Dec 16, 2016
Pros: The main thing about the hotel was its location and the reception was vast, clean and (other than the staff the evening before) welcoming.
Cons: The entrance belies the rooms. It looks impressive and imposing but It needs a good and thorough updating and actually a good clean.
Location: Lots of clubs, bars and restaurants, near a canal and easy walking distance to the museums, galleries and shops.
We checked in late and the person who checked us in was obviously very 'frustrated' to be there. He tutted a lot and was argumentative when I asked him to explain the 5% city tax that he said he was adding to the bill. He virtually through the room key at me and pointed but did not direct us to the lift. This was our first time in Amsterdam and he was the first person we had encountered so not a great start. However, the hotel is central and surprisingly quiet though we were on the 5th floor. The beds were comfortable, the temperature just right, the furnishings and fittings need to be updated but we were only there for one night and the walk in shower was absolutely filthy. I queried it and was told it was 'wear and tear' but it wasn't. It was old and rusty and looked really grubby. The basin had a leak underneath but that didn't make much difference to our stay and there was lots of hanging space and drawers. I would stay there again mainly due to its location but on walking round Amsterdam the next day we did see others, which looked less 'corporate' and a more picturesque position.

Perfect place to experience Amsterdam

Great location. Nice facilities (was there for conference). Great breakfast. Only beef would be that the thermostat seemed to have no effect on the room temp, which was on the cool side.

Location was wonderful, convenient to everything.

Posted Oct 17, 2016
Pros: Spacious room.
Cons: The carpet in our room was badly stained throughout.
Location: Floating flower market literally just out the front door. Hotel near several major tram stops & completely surrounded by wonderful restaurants & bars
The hotel had the bones to be quite luxurious but upon a closer look, things were stained, nicked or broken. Our room was huge and on a corner so had 2 terrific views. Housekeeping could have been a little more attentive; one day took a bath towel and didn't leave a replacement. The front desk personnel were all terrific! We would stay at this hotel again.

Pros: Location is good.
Cons: Rooms are tired.
Sad to say that the hotel is tired but that is not reflected in the price!

Your holiday begins here......

Pros: It is not just a hotel.....it's like going to family. Warm and inviting.
Location: Very central location. Everything is on your doorstep. You are right next to the Flower Market and the Famous Dam Square is a 10 minute walk away.
The staff here are excellent, nothing is too much trouble. My friend was taken ill whilst we were here; they put us in touch with a Doctor and everything worked out OK Special praise must be given to Juliette on reception, a consummate professional!
