Lovely hotel

Posted Jul 30, 2016
Pros: Beautiful rooms Staff Location
Cons: Some outside space...but believe that will be available soon A door between the bar and the rooms
Location: Close to Anne Frank house...and a lovely church that you can climb over 100 steps to get lovely views of Amsterdam
We loved the location of the Pulitzer, while close to Anne Frank house and transport links,it was not as busy and loud as other areas and you could leave the hotel without immediately having to dodge bicycles! Room was lovely, the shower was fabulous, although no canal view and maybe a little closer to the bar than was ideal, but we had got the room on a great deal and was upgraded too.Yes,I would pay the extra for the view, but don't exclude the cheaper rooms if you want the luxury of a 5* hotel for a few less euros. Unfortunately whilst we were there the was work in progress, which affected the only thing we missed which was some outside space. The staff were all very polite and helpful We also went on the hotel's canal trip which was lovely and full of information

Dear Susan, How kind of you to take your valuable time to share your experiences with us on Expedia. It is indeed correct that we are renovating the Prinsengracht-side of the hotel, including our inner gardens. On the 15th of August, the renovation will be completed and we will open the Prinsengracht-side for the public, as well as our beautiful gardens. The location of Pulitzer Amsterdam is perfect to explore the city, nearby many main attractions and great restaurants. Furthermore, I am happy to read that you loved the room you stayed in. Including the spacious, fabulous shower! Your wonderful words regarding the staff will be shared within the team. It would be a pleasure to welcome you back again in the future. Four days in Amsterdam

Posted Jul 28, 2016
Pros: The individual rooms, the layout of the Hotel, front of house staff, and location. Very quiet, hardly saw other guests.
Cons: n/a
Location: Plenty to do and see - just get a map, good guide book and you can't go wrong!
Great stay at the Pulitzer Hotel in Amsterdam - nothing was too much trouble. The staff were very friendly, accommodating and welcoming at all times, especially the Reception and Front Door staff. We took the opportunity to view the surrounding area on the Pulitzer's boat - very enjoyable and, although having been to Amsterdam previously, we found it informative.

We loved everything about this hotel from the location to the staff and decor. The bed was so comfortable it was hard to get out off. The daily complimentary water and waffle cookies was a very nice touch.

Elegant yet quirky!

Posted Jun 13, 2016
Pros: The character of this hotel is simply wonderful, each house has the interior walls painted a difference colour.
Cons: Two thirds of the hotel were under refurbishment during our stay, when it is finished it will be magnificent!
Location: The famous Flower Market is minutes away, leave a morning free! About a 15 minute walk is Grand Central Station where you can go on a canal cruise.
From the moment you walk in you are pampered and catered for, wonderful staff and such an interesting building(s) 25 houses joined together! Due to a mishap (very minor leak in the shower) we stayed in a total of three rooms during our stay, these changes were made as trouble free as possible by the excellent staff. The bar is an experience in itself, fully trained, very knowledgeable barstaff and so courteous, my G&T was a thing of beauty! Canal side seating is available just outside. The rooms were spotlessly clean and carefully thought out with lots of lovely extra touches. Numerous restaurants and bars are just a short walk away but far enough from the madding crowd to rest undisturbed, perfect!

Dear Jo, How lovely of you to share this comment on Expedia. It was a pleasure to have you staying with us! It is indeed correct that we are still renovating the Prinsengracht-side of the hotel. The entire renovation will be finished in Mid-August. This includes a complete renovated lobby, lobby lounge and 145 rooms. Your beautiful encouraging words regarding the staff are much appreciated. I will personally make sure this will be shared with the entire team. I am happy to learn that, despite the inconveniences of moving rooms, we were able to make this as trouble free as possible. Our bartenders have indeed great knowledge about the drinks which they prepare. I am delighted to read that your G&T was a thing of beauty! Furthermore, I am happy to learn that the rooms were spotlessly clean and that you enjoyed the extra lovely touches. We are all looking forward to welcome you back soon!
