Lovely renovated Old World Boutique Hotel

Posted Apr 21, 2017
Pros: Furnishings were beautiful: whimsical colors, and unusual seating areas, along with a SERIOUS art collection! Great location... we walked everywhere!!
Cons: I would have loved a small gift shop or access to purchasing some of the art work
Location: GREAT location: walk to shopping, outstanding art museums, cultural center filled with history, concert hall, beautiful streets along the canals
The Pulitzer is wonderfully located within walking distance of all the major Amsterdam sites. We found the staff to be knowledgeable and eager to help with suggestions, reservations , and even re-scheduling of previously made reservations!! The rooms are all different since the hotel is actually made up of a series of old homes, but each is beautifully appointed with 1st class art work and lovely furnishings. Seating areas outside have comfortable settees, surrounded by flowers (fresh flowers are everywhere in the hotel!) and invite relaxing with afternoon tea. There is a comfortable bar area and a restaurant too, tho we did not eat there. I would HIGHLY recommend the Pulitzer and would happily return myself!! (Concierge Jasper Dondorp was particularly helpful during our stay)

Good location, unique property

Nicely located out of the bustle and crowds of old town. Rooms along street little noisy with pedestrian traffic. Unique layout with combination of 25 canal homes and beautifully decorated. Breakfast buffet was worth the leisurely morning.

Great location - central to Amsterdam old town.

Posted Apr 10, 2017
Pros: Very charming old-world atmosphere, great location, ideal for "doing" Amsterdam.
Cons: The tea and coffee facilities could have been much more plentiful!
Great hotel - made up from a number of old houses that occupy the end of a block bordered by three roads / canals. Each room is different - very quirky layout (bit like a maze) but with a number of small steps, stairs, corridors and twist and turns to negotiate (Lifts took he main stairs out of the route - and the porters were were very helpful with he luggage etc).

Dear Anonymous, Wow, what a fantastic comment! Thank you. Pulitzer Amsterdam exists of 25 canal houses dating back to the 17th and 18th century. Therefore, it may be a maze sometimes in this unique property. We are looking forward in welcoming you back again in the near future! Warm regards, Alex

Great location

Posted Apr 9, 2017
Cons: Although we moved the thermostat down, the room ran too warm for our taste.
Convenient to everything, walking distance to Anne Frank house, Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum, canal tours, buses to airport to transfer to Keukenhof Gardens. The concierge staff is very knowledgeable and helpful with all types of questions. The waitstaff at the Pulse was attentive but also provided enough room to enjoy our breakfast, afternoon cheese plate and wine, late night sandwich or sweet.

Lovely hotel with a boutique feel, in the centre.

Posted Apr 5, 2017
Pros: The location, the lounge breakfast, the rooms were quiet and had everything we needed.
Location: Lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance.
We hired the hotel canal boat, although a lot more than the regular canal boats, it was worth the extra. It takes 75 minutes mornings and evenings, needs to be booked in advance.

Excellent Hotel & location

Posted Apr 4, 2017
Pros: Complimentary bottles of water and Dutch waffle cookies in room, & replaced each day.
Location: It's a lovely, central location, with the Anne Frank House on the next block. ( You'll be glad to have your tickets in advance)
I was beyond pleased with the Pulitzer Hotel. It's unusual, beautiful, convenient and the staff is exceptional. Lovely courtyards in it's interior for dining or lounging. The hotel is made of about 7 or 8 older homes on the block, each room unique. My only DISAPPOINTMENT lies with EXPEDIA, who advertised this hotel offered breakfast included with my purchase. When I arrived, I learned that wasn't so. No breakfast was included, and the breakfast offered is pricey. Fortunately, out it's door, are a number of restaurants, at more reasonable prices.

Outstanding stay

Posted Mar 20, 2017
Pros: Outstanding customer service and knowledge
Cons: Keep doing what they are doing as it would be hard to improve
Location: Excellent city location. Could walk to all museums and galleries. Hotel on canal side with great individual shops and galleries nearby
Excellent hotel in great location with knowledgeable and extremely helpful staff. Every member of staff from the cleaners to the concierge made you feel very welcome and we would definitely return and recommend to friends. It was great to be treated by everyone in the same way -other hotels could take lessons on customer service from the Pulitzer.

Great hotel, great neighborhood.

We loved the Pulitzer. It's on a canal, very close to boutique shopping and good coffee. The rooms were large and comfortable and the staff lovely, notably Pieter the concierge, on whom we leaned heavily. The place is pieced together from 25 canal houses. It's a beautiful job with modern elevators, but note that you may have to scamper up and down small stairs to get to your room. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
