Very comfortable hotel in a great location

Pros: The staff were very helpful and a lot of thought had gone into how guests could get a good nights sleep in the most comfortable bed ever.
Cons: A coffee machine is provided in the room which is great, but a very limited tea selection could be improved upon.
Location: Centrally located with easy access to everything. Canal side located gives real feeling of the charm of Amsterdam
Good hotel in an interesting building which we thought was perfect for our long weekend in Amsterdam.

Amsterdam Sofitel Grand Hotel

Pros: Good central location good central location good central location
Cons: Everything was good about the hotel except the breakfast service you will wait 15 min for a coffee to go with it and thats when they aren't busy this happen every day so it wasent just a fluke

Vacation, visiting, and conference.

Location: We enjoyed shopping on foot, and bus tours of churches, windmills, cheese making, and pottery..all accessible with a short walk from the hotel.
Our room had a nice view of a waterway. The comfort amenities including the bedding, shower, restroom, and television were all modern and spotless. The assistance from the hotel staff was unobtrusive, but ever present.

Best Hotel in Amsterdam!!

Pros: Everything--location, room, bathroom, Resturant, staff, lobby, concierge
Cons: Their Gym could be better
Location: It's on a quite canal 5 mins walk to Dam square--so couldn't be in a better location
We stayed in this hotel for 5 days and had our 6 year old daughter with us. Our experience couldn't be better, right from check-in (we checked in morning as our flight from US got there at 8) the staff was focused on our comfort. The room was great with a view of the canal, they had made an extra bed for our daughter, everyday they brought goodies for her....hotel is luxurious and very spacious by European standards. Everything in this hotel is 1st class!!

Loved this luxury hotel. It lives up to the billing and the Sofitel Legends experience. If you want a VIP experience in Europe this is one of the places to go.

The Perfect Hotel - Look No Further!

Pros: Comfort, Location and Quality. The room was clean, the bed was ridiculously comfortable, and the customer service from everyone was top notch.
Cons: The way the standing shower is designed the water leaks out onto the floor and so the rest of the bathroom gets very slippery.
Location: The location is right in old Red Light District area and also has many options of restaurants and clothing stores, everything else is 15 min taxi ride

Elegance defined. An oasis of tranquility.

Location: Edge of a busy district so you will hear some outside noise but Amsterdam is a busy, dense and noisy city and this is unavoidable. Not far from metro
An elegant and tranquil experience. Straight As all around. You will love this hotel.

Location, location, location is the best

Staff is great hotel is great and the location is the best. I also like how they shut hotel down to the public at night making it secure.

A palace in Amsterdam

From the moment the cab passed the gate and into the courtyard I knew I had arrived. Everyone from the concierge to the front desk staff to the bartender at the Flying Dutchman, to the gracious room service personnel was friendly and eager to help. The room was beautiful and exquisitely appointed. It's worth the slight extra cost.
