I was able to stay here two weekends in a row because it was near Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, where I worked. The last time I came here was about two or three years ago and it was nice. This time however, they really improved the experience. The rooms where completely refurbished with a white color scheme and wicker lamps - very tasteful! The beds were actually very comfortable; I wonder if it was Temperpedic? Parking was still cramped but I managed to find a spot. I'd like to give a shout out to that super vigilant desk clerk who called to alert me that I left my ID in the lobby! Talk about a bonehead move! Anaheim Maingate did a very good job with the refurbishment and I'll definitely come back if the price is right. I just hope they'll use that vacant lot for more parking!

There were dead cockroaches and bees around the property. There was a broken shower head and odds and ends that didn't work. The facilities "looked" nice but it was clear that they renovated the basic parts of the property and no the fundamental issues.

We are still in the midst of our renovation and are taking a close look at all things. We are not just taking care of the basic parts. Every piece of the property has been touched. Rest assured we expect everything to work perfectly. The bees may be because there is a beehive. We do have pest control that looks into those things. This is the first time we have seen these in a long time.

great value! walkable to disneyland but not convenient nor did i feel safe doing that walk at night. room was so cheap it worked for one night to just pass out after park. AC didn't work well and rooms smelled like smoke but renovated and cute decor in the room. the beds were old and creeky but served its purpose if you need to save $ it will do! no bugs like other reviews said.

Amazing , i loved the new renovations , completely different from the pictures , very clean ! My friends & i stayed here to celebrate our friends birthday. Lyfts from here to the entrance of Disney on Harbor were $5 super cheap super convenient. Great and friendly staff ! & for the price , come on you cant beat it , our audio for the tv wasnt working when we arrived to the room around midnight & staff came and fixed it in under 5 mins , very pleased & just again love the new aesthetic, shower was beautiful, super clean . Really worth it !

I always read a lot of reviews when choosing where to stay but I do not write a review very often. I read the reviews for Maingate Inn before booking and there were some very good and some pretty bad ones. The price was too good to pass up considering how close it is to Disneyland, which was why I was coming to Anaheim. But I was very nervous leading up to my stay. When I showed up to check in, I was very pleasantly surprised to see an adorable little property! The office was nice and had a very light and modern design. I was promptly greeted by a very friendly lady (I wish I had gotten her name!). She was very upfront about the remodel going on and that they are doing construction between the hours of 9am and 5pm so there would be some noise during those hours. I planned to be out of the room from 7am until midnight so the construction noise was not an issue for me. She gave me a newly remodeled room. I was very happy when I got to the room! It was very nicely decorated and looked nothing like some of the pictures I saw online. Everything looked very clean, crisp, and light, with modern fixtures and decor. I read some reviews about bugs but I did not see a single bug during my stay. The walls were freshly painted. There was a microwave, mini fridge, and coffee maker in the room which is always a nice touch. Everything in the room functioned as it was supposed to. It is close enough to Disneyland to walk. I would definitely stay here again!

Great location but the lack of parking is tough. Also, no smoke detectors in room and we requested maid service and they came in and took towels, left bed unmade and garbages full. Had to request them to come back. Beds and pillows are HORRIBLE. But it was worth a last minute booking

I stayed at this hotel on a Monday night after work, we had a surprise Disney trip for my girls Tuesday morning. Apart from having a few spiders in the room and a sticky spot on the floor the room was fine until our a/c started making a loud weird noise while it was off. I eventually called the front and after them hearing the noise over the phone they offered for us to switch rooms in the middle of the night due to the noise and my husband and I not being able to sleep. We moved our sleeping daughters and packed all our stuff to the room next door that they provided. The second room had THE WORST bed we've ever slept on. If you get room 217 or 218 ask for something else, 217's mattress was flat and rock hard, it didn't have a fitted sheet and the mattress was exposed in one corner. So unfortunately we were pretty exhausted and sleep deprived on our Disney day. I never leave reviews but this one had us pretty upset. No refund or discount was offered wither just a thanks have a great day.

We are sorry that you feel the bed was not comfortable. The mattresses in both rooms are new firm memory foam. We have had complaints that the beds are too soft. Unfortunately we cannot please everyone’s taste on the feel of the mattress. That being said we are looking into pillow tops for some of our mattresses. We have never had fitted sheets nor do most hotels. The mattresses are all fully encased with a zippered cover. We apologize for the noisy AC, it has been repaired

The property was under renovation, our room was obviously one that was not remodeled yet. The room was lacking a hairdryer, coffee for the coffee maker, beds could have used an extra blanket, AC/Heat wall unit dated, difficult to use and didn’t work great. The walls are paper thin, could hear EVERYTHING in room next to us. Dust all over the room from the renovation. Only 2 outlets to use for charging devices also! Only thing we liked about the property was the close proximity to Disneyland. Will definitely stay somewhere else next time.

The mattress was hard as a rock. It basically felt like sleeping on the floor. The sink and bathroom barely had any space for toiletries. The tv didn’t work properly. It would only turn on and off, but you couldn’t change the channel. We didn’t use it but would’ve liked to. The floor was dusty, but I would attribute that to the building undergoing renovations. There were also a lot of little gnats and flies right outside my door and quite a few inside the room. A lot of reviews say that it’s not actually a 15 minute walk to the park, which is technically true; however it is less than 15 minutes walk to the trams that take you to the park. Overall, I got what I paid for but am unlikely to come back especially with the terrible mattress.

Thank you for your review. I’m sorry that you were uncomfortable on the mattress in the room you were in. That is a new mattress and it is a firm memory foam mattress. We have now been purchasing medium firmness too. Some Guests in fact, like the firm mattress. It is all personal preference. With regard to the television, we checked the remote and TV and it appears to be working just fine. It is a new 50” television. That being said you should have come to the office and we would have helped you make the TV work if it wasn’t operating properly. The vanity in your room has a lot of storage on the large shelf below the sink. We like the design of the vanity and obviously take into account that guests will have toiletries, etc. that they want to conveniently store. That is why there is the large shelf under the vanity. We are nearing the completion of our renovation, but are sorry that your room was dusty. Again, we could have had our cleaning lady come in and dust the room. We do lappreciate that you were happy with the short walk to Disneyland.

The rooms were not properly marked while under remodeling, and we arrived on a raining day. The windows were left open and the room was wet. The landline phone was disconnected and wouldn't work when we connected it. rooms are amazing and very well updated. It clearly is still in progress but it will be amazing once completed! :)

Property was nice, and rooms were very spacious and large. Property is on the smaller side but convenient to not being too busy. Price was fair as well! BUT it is not a 15minute walk to Disneyland like it states “at a steady pace” lol my husband and i walked it and took us 28 minutes to get there speed walking the whole way. That’s more than steady. But was not 15minutes sadly which caused us to loose out on time but it wasn’t bad thankfully. Just need to update the distance to let others aware :)

The room was disgusting. No clean towels no clean bed sheets. Room walls are paper thins could literally hear the people next door urinating and farting like if it was happening right in front of me. Tried to get another hotel to not stay there and eveything in the area was sold out. I will never step foot in this hotel again.

Don’t let the photos fool you. This place is a complete dump. Our room was incredibly run down, holes in the walls, dust and cobwebs on the walls and ceiling, mildew in the shower, peeling wallpaper… on top of the cosmetic issues, the room had the most awful smell. Like something had died in the walls. We only stayed two nights and the first night, we arrived close to midnight, so it was too late to leave. We thought we’d give it a day and maybe it’d air out with use, but the next night it was just as smelly. All of our stuff smelled like the hotel when we got home. They advertised free parking for guests and free continental breakfast. Both were false. They charged a parking fee per day and there was no breakfast. Oh, and don’t let the proximity to Disneyland fool you… it’s still too far to walk, especially if you have small kids.

We do not advertise a free breakfast or free parking. Most people love our proximity to Disneyland. Had you come that and let our staff know of your issues we could have moved you into another room.

UV light too bright, unable to sleep
The hotel was in the middle of a renovation when we stayed there. The new renovations looked nice but were not practical. They had these new AC units with a UV light that illuminated the entire room with a purple light at night making it impossible to sleep. Also our unit made this really loud noise the first night. They did fix the noise the next day when we told them about the problem. Overall the staff was nice and tried to help when they could. This would have been a nice place to stay if it weren't for that UV light.

We are sorry that you did not like the AC unit in your room. In some of our units we have used ultraviolet rights, they were recommended to us as they kill bacteria, and sterilize the unit against mold. We do not believe that the lights are very bright. Had you however come to the office we could have transferred you to another room where there are no UV lights in the air-conditioning units.

There were signs everywhere saying they weren't responsible for any damage or theft to my property, yet my door did not come with a deadbolt or any sort of secured locks, and they still charged for parking. No "do not disturb" sign was available so the maids would just come in, even if you were still sleeping. The service was pretty good other than that. No coffee maker anywhere, though there was a mini fridge, and microwave available in my room, plus a good sized TV.. Hair dryer was available upon request at the front desk. I booked this hotel so that I could spend the week at Disneyland. From the map it looked like it's right next to the park, however there was a good 15-20 minute walk to get to the tram, and then another 5 to 10 minutes before you actually got into the park..

Great deal great hotel
They are currently doing construction and fixing up the hotel. The rooms are nice with some wear and tear but still not too bad for the location and price. You get what you pay for. But my stay there was great! We love how close it is to Disney and other theme parks. Something new from my past stays is that they now charge for parking per day it was $7 dollars per day per car. Just fyi because I didn't see that anywhere when I made the reservation.

Our room had been renovated. It was a lot nicer than the pictures we saw on the booking page. We didn’t have hot water for 2/3 nights of our stay. It was fixed for the final night. Quiet place to stay. Walking distance to Disneyland.

Amazing place, rooms are looking amazing. Staff is nice, location is perfect for Disneyland. My requests were met with no hassle. The staff was very friendly. The room was alright, I guess you get what you pay for. It seemed really cheap. There were a few bugs, like a cockroach, a spider, something flying around. You can hear the traffic and they are under construction so you can hear the workers walking around on higher floor. My son was crying when we got back late and it sounded like the neighbor was banging on the wall at us.

We are sorry that you thought that the room was cheap. In fairness to us, the bed frames and chair are from Crate And Barrel, the artwork from Lulu and Georgia, the washstand is from Restoration Hardware, and the flooring is a luxury laminate. We get a lot of compliments on the barn door and our rooms in general that are renovated. If we could attach photographs we would. If you took any photographs, it would be great if you posted them If the doors are left open, sometimes flies will come in. Unfortunately, the one room that is being worked on, the only construction happening right now, was directly above you. Had you advised us that this was noisy we could have assigned you another room.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilities
You get what you paid for. Location is very close to Disney, about 5 minutes drive to Disney Parking. Parking lot is small and always crowded. Place is under renovation with a lot of supplies throughout the property. My biggest complaint is with Housekeeping. One day we get towels, next day we get half back. We came back to the room for a nap, housekeeper tried to come in and clean, I told her come back at 3. At 3pm, the front desk called and said YOU Have YO GET OUT THE ROOM FOR HOUSEKEEPING. Did I miss the part where I PAID FOR THE ROOM? There was no DND sign, our bed linings had stains, a bunch of dust under the bed. The upkeep with housekeeping needs to be looked at. They can do better. There's not many rooms there to clean. Also, please buy new towels, the current ones are old and should be used for exfoliating as rough as they are. Don't forget the bathroom rug when you refresh too. We didn't spend much time in the room but the basic necessities should be good. Like your outdated bar soap...please change.
