This was a great place to stay with our dog. There is a large open grassy area for the dogs to play. The food was amazing and the owners are very sweet. We will be back

Just finished staying at this wonderful bed and breakfast. Phil and Pia were great hosts and the breakfast is worthy of going back for fourths and fifth servings. They were helpful, the room was clean and beautifully decorated and private. Would definitely come back again. It is our first choice to stay in the area. We're looking forward to seeing what the different rooms looks like.

Wonderful Place on the California Coast
This Inn is in a beautiful garden setting across from the ocean with the sounds of sea lions barking in the background. The Innkeepers, Pia and Phil were delightful and kind. Pia is an excellent cook and breakfasts were delightful. Our room was much bigger than I expected and had everything we needed including a fireplace. It was the get-away that my husband and I needed.

The three of us had a wonderful 2 night stay at north coast Country inn. This was our third visit. Our hosts, Pia and Phil, and Chester are always so friendly, inviting and helpful. Our breakfast was superb and Pia worked around dietary issues. It is a great place just to relax, drink some wine, read a book, nap!!! We will be back next year!!!

Wonderful respite from my overbooked life!

Guest rating on this B&B is deceiving
We stayed in Aquaintine unit. It was an old fashioned room. The pros: Great breakfast, fire place that we did not use in the summer. (+1) The Cons: 1. The room is dark even with all lights lit. It has a gable mount skylight window that will not let you sleep when the day breaks (-1) 2. The bed is dipped in the middle when two people laid on top. That made us feel that we are tilting towards the middle. Very uncomfortable. (-1) 3. The toilet seat was not installed properly that would not stay up. A man needs to hold up the seat with one hand while maneuvers with the other. (-1) 4. Not helpful giving us information on restaurants nearby (-1)

Relaxing Getaway
The breakfasts were very good. In the evening we relaxed in the armchairs in front of the fireplace in our unit. Outside we had the option to sit on the deck or in the gazebo to enjoy the gardens.

romantic get-away over the holidays. owners are kind and friendly and the breakfast they provide delicious. the bed was hard, so that was unfortunate, but the room comfortable and the view of the ocean gorgeous.

This is a very quiet and cozy inn. Beautiful redwood forest setting with coastal ocean views. We sat on the porch to visit with friends and read. It was a delight to read by the fireplace. Owners were very friendly. Food was fantastic! We were visiting family in Sea Ranch so we didn't get to spend much time here at the inn. Next time we'll plan to spend more time at the inn.

And relax!
I chose this "Bed and Breakfast" for it's location and "dog friendly" description mainly, on the coast a little North of San Francisco. I couldn't have been more pleased. The owners, Phil and Pia could not have been more pleasant. Breakfast was a real treat every day and relaxing on the porch or in front of the log fire in the evening was unbeatable relaxation. I'd happily recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful and comfortable retreat for two, not for those who need to be entertained or those with children however. Already planning a return visit.

Very nice ocean view bungalows
This is a terrific value on the North coast if you're looking for a quiet hideaway. The facilities are a little worn, almost shabby-chic, but everything was working fine and the rustic, sea-bleached feel added to the charm. Hosts were delightful and fun to be with, with as much socialization as you may wish to be involved in. Breakfast was an amazing spread of home-made delicacies and really added to the overall value. The rooms themselves are quiet, decorated individually as you would expect on the North coast, with a cozy little fireplace and very comfortable armchairs. Wonderful deck view. Extremely relaxing environment.

Had a wonderful stay at this charming bed and breakfast. Pia and her husband couldn't have been more hospitable and the breakfast was delicious. Room was large and very comfortable. If ever in the area this is the place to stay.

I didn't feel comfortable at all, the owner was watching us in every single moment day and night from her room. She never gave us the information sheet until last day, she didn't provide wifii or breakfast how supust to be. The place was nice, but I will not recommend you guys as company or her hotel to stay. :(

Great little B&B with very friendly owners, we had a fantastic time and the rooms were comfortable and very clean. We had one little maintenance request which got immediately fixed. Overall we stayed 3 nights.

Charming family inn with great cooking
I just spent four nights at North Coast Country Inn and loved every minute of it. The hosts, Phil and Pia, could not be better or more carefully attentive of their inn. The large room has beautiful views and abundant Victorian charm. The grounds are well-designed and peaceful. The recent Northern California drought has been playing havoc on their landscaping since they can't water as much as the property needs, but they have managed to keep it looking lovely nonetheless.

Heavenly Bed and Breakfast
I don't know how we were blessed with this overnight stay. The owners were wonderful and brought a delicious homemade breakfast to our room. It wasn't so much a room as a home, with a fireplace, deck, huge sitting area, and fantastic bed. Came with a kitchen unit and a complimentary bottle of wine. We drove about 5 mins down road and pulled off on a side road and enjoyed sunset on a small beach all by ourselves. If you are traveling the coast, this is definitely worth a stop.

We will be back for another weekend getaway!
Pros: Beautiful location, beautiful buildings, the room was very nice and we loved the gas fireplace. We loved the tub and our deck--it was small but large enough and so nice to sit together outside. Cons: A small microwave would be nice and the bed was on the firm side--more firm than we like.

Perfect Getaway!
We stayed at the NCCI mid April, and had a wonderful time. Pia and Phil are great hosts, very warm and funny! We stayed for 2 nights, and Pia made an incredible breakfast both mornings. Everything fresh and homemade. She actually made some adjustments for me, since I don't eat eggs...pretty nice! We stayed in the Sea Urchin Room....very lovely. The room has a kitchenette, gametable, and a fireplace. It has a porch with 2 adirondack chairs, which we used at night with blankets, to listen to the seals and watch the stars. Phil gave us some great tips on where to eat (St Orres, with Lupe, who does everything from tending bar, to taking orders, to bringing food, etc....great lady!), where to watch Game 1 basketball playoffs, and where to go for great beach access, and museum trips to Port Arena and Fort Ross. All and all, a great stay, and we will definitely be back for a second visit. Thanks Phil & Pia - you are the best!

The inn keepers were wonderful. They suggested a great place to eat dinner. The fire place was ready to light and they even brought a most delicious breakfast to our room.

When we arrived at the B & B there was no one in the office. A lady called from upstairs when she heard us and said, 'Well, what's your name?' The room was beautiful, but there were MANY cobwebs that needed cleaning up and the small sink in the kitchenette dripped. On the good side, the room had a fireplace and was all set for a fire along with a half bottle of wine and chocolates. Breakfast the next morning was VERY good.

Time Out !
We went for a relaxing getaway and everything was perfect. A great spot to go north toward Mendocino and Fort Bragg or south toward Fort Ross and Jenner. The hosts were a help in getting to places we might not have seen. Breakfast was different each of the four days we were there and was delicious.

A perfect retreat
This is a lovely, private spot in extensive grounds of redwoods and rhododendrons. You hear the sea lions barking and can view the ocean from some rooms, which are furnished comfortably and with a fireplace. The breakfasts are delicious.

EXPEDIA, WE TRIED TO CANCEL THE SECOND RESERVATION FOR I DAY, 09/18/14 CHECKOUT, 09/19/14, NO CELL SERVICE IN GUALALA, WE HAD TO BORROW A PHONE, YOUR TIME FOR WAIT 1 HR. 26 MINUTES , COULD NOT WAIT, WE HAD TO LEAVE , KING FIRE, THREARENING OUR BUSINESS , AND HOME -family. We could not call , ---no cell service. North COAST , SAID THEY WOULD NOT CHARGE US IF YOU WOULD CREDIT US., PLEASE CALL 'PIA ", SHE will verify , we had to leave -due to the fire 8600 acres, near our office/home., Pollock Pines .

Our room, the Sea Urchin, was splendid....as was the breakfast. Most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, seriously. Bathroom has several plumbing issues but that is being fixed. Otherwise, perfect. Lovely hosts. I would book that room again.

The decor is charming--each room is decorated differently with antiques. The bed felt very cushy-- feather bed, feather comforter and feather pillows. Our room was very spacious and had a usable kitchenette. The owners are attractive and friendly, and they make great breakfasts! Wine and cheese hour Saturday evenings. Located on Highway 1 but silent at night and so close to the coast that you can hear the sea lions. The hot tub was temporarily unavailable due to deck restoration but a definite attraction when functioning--in a secluded part of the back garden. This was our third visit. Overall a very pleasant experience for a reasonable price!

My wife and I spent two very relaxing and enjoyable days at this Inn and especially enjoyed the delicious breakfasts created by the owner. The proximity to the coast, an excellent dinner at the Sea Ranch and wine tasting at the Annapolis Winery, made this a very memorable weekend for us.

A bed and breakfast with loads of charm
Me and my girlfriend really enjoyed this place. It has a lot of the small details you would want for a getaway: nice sheets, nice cabins, nice fireplace, nice grounds. They even allow dogs in certain rooms, for an additional pet fee. Would go back in a heartbeat. It's exactly what you would want for a relaxing time.

Loved pretty much everything at this place from the wonderful hosts to the stargazing to the fireplace and in-room kitchen. The bed and bedding were super comfortable and the breakfasts were fantastic. Wish we would have booked through the inn's website itself, because then there are special rates. We ended up paying more than we would have otherwise by using hotels.com. We'll know better for next time. It's really fun to be right across from "barking rocks" and would definitely go back for another get-away. Internet was totally reliable. Wish there was a hot tub!

We had a lovely weekend at North Coast Country Inn. The room was comfortable with a cute country feel. It was a bit north of where our activities were located but worth the 10 minute drive to be in a less-populated area. Wonderful staff as well. We will stay there again.

Great stay!
My girlfriend and I had a wonder stay. The hosts were very friendly, and the room was very quaint and comfortable. We stayed in Southwind, which had a nice King size bed with awesome feather top. It was my first time in Gualala, and enjoyed the coastal drive to Point Arena and Mendocino. I would recommend staying here!
