Best Hotel close to all we wanted

Posted Aug 26, 2015
Pros: Everything
Location: see above
We were extremely pleased with our visit and got a good sense of the area and what is available...plus our son lives about 30 miles North.

Very Handy Hotel

Posted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: Location, location...facilities
Cons: Add a restaurant
We had a very pleasant stay. During our visit to Alaska we have decided to make a move to Alaska when we have made all the necessary arrangements for our move...and we will be staying at the hotel when we move there, and are moving into whatever place we have chosen. The Hotel is excellent for my wife in a wheelchair.

Aging Hotel

Posted Aug 17, 2015
Pros: Good Location, Friendly and helpful staff.
No Air Conditioning, fans are provided but room became stiffing hot and uncomfortable. The hotel is showing its age, carpet stains, doors are marked and marred, bathroom door hits the floor and will not open all the way.

Comfortable, Quiet Hotel

This is the nicest hotel in the area. The rooms are small but very nice. Breakfast is good. I would recommend highly of you are staying in the Wasilla area.

Beautiful setting

Posted Aug 7, 2015
Pros: The grounds and the view of the lake.
Cons: Room furnishings and daily maid service
Location: We love hiking at Hatchers Pass, visiting Knik Glacier, flight seeing tour.
The hotel grounds, including a large private dock on Lake Lucille are beautiful. We had a king suite which was roomy and clean, if somewhat dated. Couch in the living room was uncomfortable to sit on, but bed was comfy. Good breakfast, including scrambled eggs and sausage along with good selection of fruit, cereals, bread and muffins. We stayed 3 nights and only had our room cleaned once.

Lakeside location nice, outdated hotel mediocre

Posted Jul 28, 2015
Pros: easy access off freeway, lake was peaceful, point of interest:down the lake from Sarah Palin's house, someone added goggly eyes to art improvement
Cons: bathroom needed refresh, screens on windows, ice machine on both floors, a little less dingy and outdated facilities and decor would be great
Location: Musk Ox Farm in Palmer, Iditarod headquarters
There is not a lot of competition for hotels in Wasilla and this may be one of the better options available but if you can reroute to avoid Wasilla stay, I would do so. Hotel has a nice lakeside location but we did not get the benefit of a lake view or breeze which would have really helped given that the hotel had no A/C (which we were not even warned about) and the room was incredibly hot and stuffy when we walked in. They had put in tower fans (2 but one did not function properly). Claimed they were full so we could not move and suggested opening the window for breeze but not only were we overlooking the parking lot that had just be redone so it smelled and was noisy with people coming in late and leaving early and standing outside to smoke, but there was no screen to keep bugs out. One of our rooms had a screen that did not entirely cover the opening. It made it quite impossible to sleep. Ice machine on 1 floor only and no elevator. Hot breakfast was included and more than we expected but it was actually pretty inedible. eggs tasted like powdered.Bathrooms needed a refresh

Neglected Facility

Posted Jul 26, 2015
Beautiful hotel on the lake that has huge potential, however seems poorly managed. Large restaurant that is only open for breakfast (buffet), assuming you like rubber eggs. Front desk staff was very unfriendly & acted as if they were being bothered when asking questions.

Nice place

Posted Jul 17, 2015
Pros: Nicely furnished and maintained. Clean. Pleasingly & appropriately decorated.
Location: Right on the outskirts of Wasilla, a thriving small town with any type of store or restaurant you could imagine. Lots of entertainment possibilities.
The hotel is right on the lake as the name suggests. Staff was helpful. Continental breakfast was good and well maintained.
