Good hotel near airport

Posted Aug 21, 2015
The hotel has a good bed and sheets. But the room temperature is not adjustable to make it warmer. We have service done 2 times and did not help much in raising the room temperature. I was told this was because the temperature control can only get the room cooler. The steam system is not working good at this time of year.

Dear Guest, Thank you so much for your most recent feedback regarding your visit with us. Without feedback such as this it's virtually impossible to know what we are doing well and what we need to improve upon. I would like to apologize for the temperature issues with your room. With the varying temperatures here in Alaska it is often very difficult to adjust a massive building such as this to the whims of mother nature. Temperatures can often swing thirty degrees overnight and compensating for this can be somewhat difficult. Please understand this is by no means an excuse but perhaps an explanation. Again my apologies. Sincerely, Colin McBeath General Manager

Good hotel in convenient location for walking downtown. Lock to room had to be replaced due to malfunction, but staff took issue seriously and resolved within the day.

Dear Guest, I'm very pleased you enjoyed your visit and that you found the hotel pleasant. It is indeed about a five minute walk to downtown however in summer when the sun shines for over 18 hours it's hopefully not to much of an effort. Again I appreciate the feedback. Gute Innenstadtlage

Hotel in a bad area of town

Posted Aug 2, 2015
Pros: I liked the room I liked the coffee shop
Cons: The elevators were incredibly slow and need improvement The staff could be more helpful and knowledgeable. The Concierge knew nothing about events
Location: It is a few blocks from the Mall which has lots of stores. Not much in the neighborhood.
We were disappointed with the location of the hotel. It is across from a cemetery in a depressed area of town. We met several people who were staying at hotels near the water ( such as Capt Cook). The restaurant staff was excellent and the food pretty good. The Concierge and the check-in and out staff were barely helpful. I asked for a cab and the man behind the desk walked away to assist another guest after he agreed to help phone the cab. Another time we were told to grab a taxi that was parked on the street. One women gave us a map and restaurant recommendations without pointing out that we would need reservations in a Friday night. I would grade the hotel only a 3.

Terrible Experience. Understaffed and impersonal.

Posted Jul 29, 2015
Pros: decent sized room.
Cons: more staff, and a cleaner lobby
Location: Anchorage was great, hotel was terrible.
A very impersonal and public feel. Nobody was there to help with bags. Only one person working in entire lobby. Had to wait fifteen minutes just to check in. Not worth the money for what is supposed to be a high quality experience. never staying there again. Low level room with view of parking lot, at a very high cost.

Schönes Hotel am Rande des Zentrums,

Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: wie schon gesagt: die Lage
Cons: dem Hotel sagen, dass der ATM mal gründlich auf Vordermann gebracht werden muss ( hab` ich aber auch schon gesagt).
Location: siehe oben
Ein schönes Hotel in bequemer Stadtlage. Ruhig und und doch leicht erreichbar. Freundliches , hilfsbereites, kompetentes Personal, sehr gute Küche, gemütliche Bar

Pretty good for Anchorage

Posted Jul 5, 2015
Pros: Good room.
Cons: Windows could be more sound proof as it is pretty loud. The staff could be engaged a bit more in creating the experience.
Location: Good location for Marathon and downtown area. Easy walkable.
The hotel is a good location. The room was good. The restaurants have a down time where there wasn't a place to just have a beer or something from 3-5, kind of weird. The front staff wasn't that fantastic. The room was great though and clean. We had just run the marathon and that was the main thing we needd.

Last minute check in

Posted Jun 24, 2015
This time a year expect to pay a lot for a room in Anchorage, but for over $300 a night the rooms need to be updated and cleaner. Hard to find outlets to plug in your phone, AC is loud and shower/tub combo is from the 90's if not older. The girl at the front desk was awesome and very customer oriented.
