Seven glaciers restaurant (and very classy bar) is located in this building, perched on the north face of this lovely mountainside. The large windows all around the restaurant offer you a view of- you guessed it- seven surrounding glaciers! Your reservation for dinner there gets you a complimentary set of passes for the tram (usually $25 each) to take you the 2,300 ft up to the restaurant. Of course, you could opt to hike the north face trail to get up there instead but I wouldn't recommend it unless you want to get your heels dusty or your suit wrinkly ;) it's truly a once in a lifetime dinner experience! Looking for an adventure race with some pretty serious bragging rights? Maybe the Mount alyeska climbathon is for you! Over the course of ten hours, climbers will summit the north face trail, a 2.2 mile (very very- seriously look at the picture!- very) steep trail starting at the base. Once you get to the top, you ride the tram back down and do it over again. Currently, the record is 12 laps! While you're having tons of fun with this you will also be raising money for women's cancer research. The climbathon takes place is September and is open to 300 participants. I'll be there in two years and hopefully you will, too! I really wanted to hike the Winner Creek Trail while staying at the Alyeska ski resort just south of Anchorage, but time was limited. The concierge recommended a visit to Virgin Creek waterfall, which was a short 5-minute car ride and 3-minute walk to get to this sweet little spot. It felt like my own little rainforest oasis. #AquaTrove #TakeAHike Seven Glaciers restaurant sits at over 2,000 ft elevation in the mountains towering behind Alyeska Resort. It has a fine dining atmosphere with incredible views of the seven surrounding glaciers and the Turnagain Arm. It is pricey but worth it and fills up fast so be sure to make a reservation. Included with your reservation are tickets to ride the tram, which will carry you up the mountain to the restaurant. The hotel Alyeska is a luxury hotel you don't want to miss! Set in the Chugach mountains, it offers prime skiing and snowboarding in the winter. In the summer, you can take advantage of great hiking and lots to do in the surrounding area (glacier tours, the wildlife conservation center, shopping in anchorage, etc). The lodge has a spa, yoga classes, many different restaurants, and a tram that will take you right up the mountain. Such a relaxing experience! A beautiful spot in the forest near Girdwood Alaska.. Outstanding sunset at the ski resort. If you haven't been to Alaska, what are you waiting for 💕 Beautiful big wine display at Seven Glaciers restaurant Dinner with a view,, yes please!! Highly recommended.. Alyeska ski resort has plenty to do in summer. You can hike, rent mountain bikes and ride down the slope trails. I wanted ti hike the Winner Creek Trail but unfortunately didn't have time. Best resort in Anchorage! A must see! Glacier Silt. luxury lodging ski resort. Take the tram, hike the trails. It's okay to nose around, day public welcome. When the snows melt and the tourists arrive en masse, Nong leaves his family's restaurant in Anchorage and sets up his one-man operation in the funky little town of Girdwood, about 45 minutes down the Seward Hwy, next to Alyeska Resort. He serves up Phad Thai and an assortment of curry bowls with a story and a smile. Sit outside surrounded by snow-covered mountains at one of his hand-decorated tables and enjoy the warm sun and cool breezes that seem to blow any number of random but friendly stray dogs past your feet. Definitely one of the most memorable experiences we had in Alaska.
