Pay for water

Posted Aug 7, 2017
Pros: Polite staff, comfortable bed, clean room.
Cons: better communication with guests concerning interruption of basic services, and appropriate measures taken to provide for guests.
Location: I was in town for meetings at U of M - reachable by bus. There are several restaurants and a nice mall within walking distance.
My stay at the Comfort Inn resulted in mixed reactions. The check-in process was great, I had to add a night on the front end of my stay and did so with a separate reservation because the original reservation had multiple rooms and I only needed the additional night for one room. The staff was able to connect my reservations so I would not have to check in again or change rooms. On the counter there was a notice from earlier in the day advising guests that the hotel had a plumber working on the water system, and that the water would be off from 9:00am until 3:00pm that day (I was checking in at 7:00pm). Stuff happens, so It didn't bother me that the water had to be off for repairs, but the notice also stated that if guests needs drinking water while the water was off that they could purchase it from vending machines in the hotel! It seems to me that complimentary water could have been supplied at little cost. A couple of days later my wife was in the shower when the water stopped running. She checked with the front desk, and was informed that they had again posted the notice and called rooms but did not leave a message concerning the outage. Again, the staff was always polite, but I just can't accept that I must purchase water to brush my teeth.

Could have been better

Posted Aug 1, 2017
Easy reservations through Expedia. On day of arrival no issue checking in (6PM), rooms (2) were ready as promised. Went to dinner and when we came back we were told NO water the next day from 9AM-6PM due to "major" line repair... Why weren't we told this when we checked in? Why weren't we offered a stay at the other Comfort Inn down the road? This was poor communication by the staff to their hotel guests. We we're all set to move out the next day but were advised the following morning it was just going to be the hot water. Water was turned back on by 6PM that day but we went through this again on the following day. Other complaint was they use too much chlorine for the pool, it's an indoor pool so it was enough to make you cough while in that room. Without these issues this hotel is not too bad of a stay. Rooms were clean and comfortable, breakfast was ok, so overall not a bad place

The location was convenient to a wedding in Jackson, Mi No rooms were available any closer due to a race in Jackson.

do not stay here--pay more--loud and not updated

Posted Jul 10, 2017
Pros: location & tv
Cons: Needs to be updated from carpet in hallways to bathrooms in the rooms. Also, more and better gym equipment are sorely needed.
Room was clean enough but faced the highway. Highway noise was 24/7. The sink/vanity was small and outside the bathroom. Door to the bathroom did not close and there was no lid on the toilet seat. Trash on the floor in the hallway and took over 12 hours for someone to pick it up. Broken chair in the first floor stairwell. Fire doors in the stairwell were left open -- pretty sure this is a fire code violation. Gym was a postage stamp with one cheap treadmill, a non working elliptical, and cheesy universal weight unit. A lot of traveling contractors and children sports people stay at this hotel.

Okay hotel experience

Posted Jun 1, 2017
Room was clean & bed comfortable however alarm clock, WIFI, & phone did not work, & room was warm & humid with loud traffic noise - it turned out the window could not be closed so there was no seal from outside. Workout room was tiny & claustrophobic. Breakfast was mediocre, skipped it the 2nd morning & went elsewhere even though included. Cannot say we'd stay there again.
