Strictly the basics

Posted Dec 5, 2016
Pros: Convenient location, Price.
Cons: Obviously money was spent to upgrade the bedrooms. Bathrooms should be high on the next renovation list.
Check-in was quick and easy. Room was small but not uncomfortably small. Bath sink is in the bedroom if that bothers you. Bathroom pretty small - shower was weak - marginal. Otherwise the room was clean and bed was comfortable. Probably worth it to spend $10 - $20 more and go with a chain hotel until the next upgrade.

Hotel close to everything

Posted Dec 2, 2016
Pros: Quiet, functional, a value for the money paid.
Cons: None of significance.
Location: Close to downtown, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, etc.
I can't complain about the hotel. The amount paid and what I received were in line with one another. The hotel is an older property, but the owners have kept up on the maintenance. Beds were clean and comfortable, hotel staff very friendly, and the property gave me a sense of safety. The room furniture was functional and the internet, which I used a lot, was very fast. The TV had many cable stations. The shower had the ability to adjust both temperature and flow, a rarity it seems in hotels nowadays. I did not use the complementary breakfast, except for the coffee. My only complaint: the microwave couldn't pop my bagged popcorn! The microwave could boil a cup of water for tea, but it wouldn't pop the popcorn. This is a very minor compliant, more of a interesting story about the hotel than anything else. Behind the hotel is a Trader Joe's, so if I really wanted pop corn I could have gone there to buy it. (BTW, the room had a very functional and working fridge.) If I come back to Ann Arbor, this hotel will be on my list to stay once again.

Comfortable room in Ann Arbor.

Posted Oct 12, 2016
Cons: Getting new signage would be especially helpful in finding the place. WE were glad to see a temporary "Lamp Post Inn" paper posted.
It was a comfortable room where we needed it and at an attractive price. The beds were super. We thought it was quiet for a city setting and we felt safe. The staff were friendly. We would stay there again.

Very small. No bathroom ventilation aside from opening a window with no screen or covering.

Nice room, but noisy at night

Posted Sep 20, 2016
Pros: Affordable, clean, friendly staff
Cons: keep the quiet hours
Location: Great coffee across the street. Trader Joe's nearby for snacks. Not a far drive to down town.
The gentleman at the reception desk was very friendly. Room was clean and spacious. Just what one would expect from an affordable motel. My only complaint was some noise outside my door late at night. I has specifically noted the noise curfew at midnight - which wasn't upheld. I suppose that is to be expected with being so close to the university.

Nice and affordable hotel in Ann Arbor. Convenient location near our child who is a student at the university. Comfortable beds and rooms, with a refrigerator and microwave. Breakfast and friendly staff.

Comfortable hotel with easy access to the university and area sights. Beds were comfortable and good value for area. Light breakfast included. Ask for renovated room.
