Nice hotel - great staff

Posted Sep 5, 2016
My only gripe is that room 7 is too small and that it is not as comfortable as room 3

Excellent stay in Antigua

Posted Aug 29, 2016
I was extremely satisfied with my experience. Nothing I would change except the large room key chains. They should adopt electronic keys that will fit in the wallet

Quality employees--quaint

Posted Jun 5, 2016
Pros: Staff, service, lovely common area with a fireplace and candles for coffee or wine in the evening.
Location: This is our second trip to Antigua. There are many churches, ruins, great restaurants, etc.. This trip we did a brief tour of the nearby pueblos.
As is often the case for us in our travels, the quality of the staff separates nice accommodations from superior accommodations. Our room was small but immaculate and pretty. The small garden and pool are maintained to high standards. The breakfast (included) was as good as it gets and better than hotels charging twice as much. We did not take advantage of the pool, gym, and other amenities provided by Encantada's "bigger" sibling, Porta, but for some these would no doubt make for an additional benefit. But some examples of their exemplary service . . . if we needed coffee at 3 am (for an early departure), the coffee was made and ready. If we wanted toast AND banana bread at breakfast it was no problem. If we had a minor problem with the room (a drip under the sink) it was resolved immediately and we were given a fruit tray in "compensation." Nice people, pretty place, small rooms. We'd stay there again.

Antigua hotel

Posted Mar 12, 2016
Pros: Loved the pool in the courtyard and the stepping stones over water to reach our room. Very well decorated and comfortable room.
Cons: room #7 was a bit small for two with only one small child sized chair.
Location: I wish this hotel was a little closer to the center of town, but nine blocks was not much of a stretch.
We stayed at Casa Encantada, around the corner from its big sister hotel. Breakfast at the companion hotel El Porto, was included and lovely, served in a beautiful courtyard setting.

Very special, magical hotel, wish we could buy it!

Posted Dec 30, 2015
Pros: Everything...ecofilter, great food,...
Cons: Nothing
Location: Wonderful pizzeria...nearest restaurant, owned and run by an Italian. Meson Panza Verde for the romantic fabulous meal that you have to do.
This is our third time staying at the Casa Encantada: first time with the connection to La Porta: we love it! The connection to the Porta means you can stay in a small, enchanting boutique hotel but swim and sauna nearby at the larger convention size hotel. The rooms are beautiful, with incense, bathrobes, the most comfortable bed and shower. The staff is exceptional, wise, informative, helpful. No mistake, this is the place to stay in Antigua and breakfast at la Casa Encantada..on the rooftop, (not at the Porta). Staff will also light the living room fireplace if you want!

Essence of the Antigua Experience

Posted Oct 4, 2015
Pros: There was lots to like. See above.
Cons: See last paragraph above.
Location: Casa Encantada is on the south side of Antigua, within walking distance of all the sights and restaurants clustered around the Parque Central.
La Casa Encantada is a boutique hotel with 11 rooms, as I recall, located in a quiet section south of the center of Antigua. Because we had come to Antigua to take a few weeks of intensive Spanish study, we chose room 10, one of two on the second floor, next to the terrace where breakfast is an absolute delight on a sunny morning. On rainy mornings, breakfast is served in the hotel's living room lounge, which is not a very successful venue with the present arrangement of furniture and coffee table. The rooms at ground level are more romantic but smaller, with scarcely room for a desk. We stayed for a week. It was the rainy season and we were able to negotiate a nice discount from the rack rate. We were impressed by the friendly professionalism of the staff, particularly super-helpful Innkeeper Karen. The wi-fi signal is strong throughout the hotel. There was a nice choice of breakfasts (included); all were ample and delicious. Casa Encantada is affiliated with the five star Antigua Porta Hotel half a block away, and so guests may use the Porta's lovely, big but hyper-chlorinated pool or breakfast at the Porta's buffet. We have suggested that CE update its in-room brochure to mention these options.

Great hotel!

Posted Aug 28, 2015
Only stayed for one night but loved it! The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. definitely felt like a spa. The staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. Oscar, Candy and there was one other lady who I've now forgotten her name (sorry!) were super helpful. The only downside would be the location as it's slightly near the shadier part of town but as long as your with a group or take a tuktuk or taxi going back late at night then it will be fine. During the day no problems

Nice and beautiful boutique hotel.

I had a really nice stay in this hotel. It was beautiful and the staff was very friendly. Breakfast options were delicious and served in the bautiful rooftop area, surrounded by flowers and plants. I loved the small garden and the pool area. I will definitely be staying here again!
