Excellent small bed-and-breakfast hotel

Posted Apr 17, 2017 on CheapTickets
Pros: The staff's attention to detail and friendly attitudes.
Cons: I tried to think of something but I couldn't.
Location: Casa Encantada is located on 9th calle. The central park is on 5th, maybe a 6 minutes walk. A good lunch choice is La Escalonia, nearby.
Casa Encantada is an excellent smaller hotel, near the center of Antigua but far enough from the noise and congestion during Semana Santa. The staff is excellent in every way, thoughtful and eager to assist. Breakfast is served on the rooftop in a beautiful setting with flowers all around. Most days breakfast is served by Maria, who is an excellent source of information about the Antigua culture. The menu is fairly extensive and you can order whatever you want. We stayed in a room which is entered by walking on small concrete platforms over some water; the room was quiet and pretty. The maid service was excellent, the room made up and cleaned very well each day. There is a small swimming/plunge pool near the front in an attractive garden area. A major advantage is that Casa Encantada is part of the Porta Hotel just a block away, and as such a guest of Casa Encantada can choose to eat breakfast there at their very extensive buffet, also as part of your room rate. The large swimming pool and the sauna and gym of the Porta Hotel are also available for your use. If you want a bigger hotel with equal amenities, Porta Hotel is a good choice; if you want a smaller, quieter environment, Casa Encantada is an excellent choice.

Great hotel and wonderful, accommodating staff!!!

Posted Mar 28, 2017 on Hotels
The hotel is in a perfect location for exploring the rest of Antigua. The staff were extremely helpful during our stay, even preparing to-go breakfast for us one day when we were taking a day trip from Antigua. The property is very serene and relaxing and the rooftop view is amazing. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and would stay here again if in Antigua.

Loved this small hotel.

Posted Mar 19, 2017
Beautiful setting and a comfortable bed in a pretty room made this a great four night stay for me. The staff were friendly and attentive. I enjoyed chatting with other guests in the cozy common room. Was very nice getting to use the large pool and lounge chairs at hotel Porta around the corner. A buffet breakfast is available there too. Or, simply enjoy breakfast on the rooftop of this quaint hotel with gorgeous views. A few minute walk to the main square of Antigua.

Nice hotel, walking distance to historical area

Posted Mar 2, 2017
Pros: Water garden, sitting room with candles and fireplace, and flowers.
Location: Walkable to the historical district. Wear good walking shoes or hiking boot because the cobblestone streets are cobblestone, not smooth.
This is a nice quaint hotel. It has comfortable rooms. My room had a water garden with stepping stones to my door. The terrace on the roof is nice for breakfast.

Charming hotel within walking distance of sights

Posted Feb 23, 2017 on Orbitz
This small charming hotel had a lot of character and comfortable beds as well as a friendly staff. Unless you are staying in a suite though be prepared for small rooms. Also early in the morning you can hear the "chicken buses" grinding their gears. Excellent breakfast.

Wonderful choice in a small, boutique hotel.

Pros: The small size.

Location: Great, convenient location within easy walk of Central Park, restaurants and all there is to do in Antigua.
Breakfasts on upstairs deck surrounded by lush plants and a glorious view.

Nice place to stay within walking distance from the town square. The food wasn't that great but the sister hotel on the next block has wonderful food.
