Stayed at the excecutive rooms annex
Posted Sep 26, 2016
Went for a weekend getaway with my mother, and did not know the hotel is actually two parts. The main hotel, bustling with activities, large pool, spa and big beautiful gardens, and an annex where the executive rooms are, which is also beautiful, but quiet and with a calm atmosphere. Thing is, you should pay attention as to what room you are staying in, especially if you are traveling with an elderly person or with someone with limited mobility. If you are staying at a regular room, you do your check-in at the main hotel, but if you are staying in the updated area, you must check in in a building a block away. There are two ways to get there from the main building, you either walk a block or go up and down a large flight of stairs (the two buildings are connected through a tunnel). As i said, this could be an issue if you have someone with limited mobility with you.
Now, as for the staff and hotel. Everyone I met had a friendly face and a willingness to accommodate. Rooms have high ceilings and are spacious and clean. Bathrooms are large and good water pressure. Had breakfast in room which was savory and arrived fast and hot. They also have Eco Filters for water in every room which is nice and convenient (there are hotels in Antigua where they charge you for bottled water) and turn down service was appreciated. We were also greeted with a personalized card and a bottle of wine and a platter of cheese and fruit, which made us feel more pampered than what we already were.
