“Absolute bargain for the money. It is an old historic building that has tons of character. Small rooms but we were just there to sleep anyway. Comfortable bed. Was honestly shocked at how clean and well kept it was. Totally impressed the walls didn’t show cracked plaster and such. Loved the antiques. Owner clearly cares for the building and takes pride in it.”

“The staff was very friendly but after checking in I realized my room had mouse droppings all around it (bathroom, behind bed, in the closet). The office was closed and I didn’t trust the cleanliness of the rest of the hotel so I left around midnight for another place. Unfortunately, Elkhorn Lodge hasn’t worked with Expedia to give a refund for this stay either. The property is definitely run down, but it sounds like the cabins are nicer and cleaner than the rooms.”

“Watching drive-in movie from bed was definitely unique! Should monitor cars leaving lights on as one was blinding entire movie.. Also, the motel sign was very bright and distracting while trying to watch the movie. Poor selection at breakfast so we went to the SunFlower Cafe in town.”

“We booked on line. Once we got to the hotel around 7 pm the office was closed. We had to call a number to get a code for our room. It was a little confusing but once we understood the process it was fine. The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable.”

“This place was like brand new, everything was clean and well stocked. Staff was very helpful and nice. Plenty of parking. Breakfast was well maintained and stocked, staff ensured that.”

“The place was nice and was clean on the inside of the room. Complimentary breakfast was a nice bonus. I will say the place was a bit small, and I did run into parking issues where someone took our designated spot. I was not able to reach management as it was past normal business hours. It was also a bit pricey to not have some basic room amenities such as an ironing board and microwave. Lastly, it's important to note the location is not actually near the populated area of Pagosa Springs. It's……
