Keyless entry worked great. No one there - unfriendly. No information about what to see and do in the area. Had we not walked over to the main bldg, we would not have picked up the 2 brochures available: one on the b & b we were staying in and 1 with walking tour of city which was nice. No restaurant/store info. Nothing on boat rentals, fishing excursions, etc.

Unfortunately, this is not a place that I would ever stay again. The check-in process involves one key so if you are not very app-savvy, forget about it. No one man's the registration desk at all so there is no help to be had. Luckily for us, the housekeeper was cleaning one of the rooms and she was able to help us out. We were placed in a room directly next to the reception desk and the noise all night long was terrible and the light coming from the reception area filtered through the flimsy curtains that we're on the door. Definitely not a place to stay if you are looking for peace and quiet or any amenities at all

An older home converted to an Airbnb. This home is perfect in so many ways. Has old time personality, with modern convenience. We rented two rooms that more than met our requirements. Both rooms were as advertised. Check-in was done remotely with no problems and followed up with a phone call. We couldn't have asked for anything more and WILL be staying at the Coombs Inn & Suites again. Note: The outside Cat was a welcome attraction for my Sister-in-law who was missing her cat at home.

No one on reception. Anyone could just walk in and then there was a sign saying call a number and someone will remotely check us in . Cost a fortune to call and then ages for them to answer. They told us our key was outside in the mailbox. We let ourselves into our room which was all in darkness, even though they said that they had left the lights on. Light and fan in room didn’t work. On our return from dinner there was someone at the reception desk, but they totally ignored us . The room had seen better days. I was disappointed that Expedia even promote this property.

Very disappointed. Nobody at reception desk to greet us or answer questions. My room wasn't very clean. No place to hang clothes... wardrobe had no hangers and drawers were too dirty to lay clean clothing in. Levolor blinds had no handles to close them. Glass paneled doors into room from lobby had only sheers. Light from lobby illuminated my room all night. Toilet seat was loose. Room had a Keurig coffee maker, but there were no pods available. Positives: Good location and comfy mattress.

This is a very cute property in a great location and we'll be happy to stay here again. However, the front desk was not staffed for a 6pm check-in. We called a help number that was displayed at the front desk, but no answer. A patron, who was searching for coffee pods, told us our check-in packet could de found in the mailbox. To be fair, I discovered that a voicemail message had been left on my mobile giving check-in details. The room was very nice. There was a Keurig coffee maker, but no pods. I don't mind that the front desk wasn't staffed, but please pick up the help line and please provide complementary coffee pods.

The hotel was beautiful. I arrived and learned that there was a new no-contact check-in procedure & that I had to call to complete. My phone had no service at all! Lucky for me, another guest happened upon me as I tried futility to contact someone. He showed me where my room key was & voila! Everything was great. I would have appreciated having a desk as it was a work trip, otherwise very comfortable and quaint.

The towel bar was on the floor. There was hardly ever anyone at the desk. The bathroom was small and not very clean. Just not a very pleasant stay. The room was not very quiet.

This was our second stay at this property. Very nice and vintage. Our room had a nice little private porch. Unfortunately, it rained so we didn't get to use it. We like this place because of the accessibility to everything in Apalachicola. It's not directly in town, but five-minute walk. The only downside was not being able to control your own room AC. Although it was cool initially, it would get warm throughout the night and there was no way to get cooler. Overall would stay here again, just in cooler month.

The 1st room we were assigned was small, and the bathroom was not clean as evidenced by toilet that had been used and not flushed! The check-in clerk moved us to a larger room. The a/c and ceiling fan didn't cut it we went and purchased a box fan. To be fair, we have been having abnormally hot weather, maybe the hvac couldn't keep up. Apalachicola has changed, it is no longer a small, locally owned town. The town has been bought out and the people have also.

Expedia is who I’m upset with! I tried to cancel and thought it was all handled, but Expedia did not follow through! I even paid the insurance and went through the entire process with a virtual assistant. After I had given all of the information I got a message saying the chat had been cancelled due to inactivity. Unbelievable and unacceptable! I also tried to cancel with Cooms, but nobody was on site or answering phones.

We did not like anything about our stay at the Coombs Inn. 1. We had difficulty finding the check in - it was in a separate bldg. 2. There was one person at the check in location and that was it. Both buildings felt like being in an empty house. Very weird. Very dark and not at all inviting. 3. In our room, the King sized bed was nearly 3ft. off the floor and you needed to use movable wooden stairs (2) to get into and out of bed. These stairs were not only awkward but dangerously slippery. 4. The shower in the bathroom was extremely narrow and squeezed into an already small space.

The address for the hotel is the location for check-in. It is listed on the website and in your confirmation. We are a small hotel with 24 rooms and having one person at check-in is a standard practice. The hotel has several buildings one was built in 1905 and was built in 1907 using black cypress wood common to the area. Being the age of the buildings we have tried to keep the originality of the houses. It appears the style of our hotel was not a good fit for your taste. Thank you for your time.

Would recommend staying here...The staff was very accomodating...The home is very unique and maintains its 1905 historic roots...the room was very clean and comfortable ...we would definitely stay again!!
