just what we needed for a great breakPosted Nov 15, 2015
Pros: Staff. Cleanliness
Cons: Red wine choice for all inclusive
Location: Old Roman ruins to visit only 4 or 5 km away with views over the bay
lovely hotel with very friendly staff. Rooms very spacious and clean with a mountain view. Quiet area to chill out in lobby and let life go by. Food was good with plenty of choice and different at every meal. Wouldnt recommend the red wine in the all inclusive but all other drinks were great. Plenty of activities for kids. Gym was ok even if a little basic and treadmill not working. Worth a trip into Chania old town to get lost in the markets. Thank you Antonis and your staff for giving us a good break.

on the beach, sea is nice and cleanPosted Oct 30, 2015
Pros: it was all ok, nothing superb about it - food and entertainment was ok. belly dancing show was SUPERB - take your camera
Cons: rake the beech and perhaps put the rocks against the shore line before you step down onto the beech will make it look nicer be honest about local bus
Location: walk to Kalves spend day Chania - do a Segway or trike tour visit Almyrida visit ancient Aptera (taxi only) no buses to that
the beach is a bit pebbly, and it would be nice if they took the time to rake it which would probably increase the rating of the hotel. food was average, but plenty of choice. no matter what they say YOU CAN GET A BUS INTO KALYVES AND ALMYRIDA. we were told by reception that you had to get a taxi - YOU DO NOT. Just ensure you are on the right side of the road for the bus and put your hand out to stop them. check on line for timetables, but really cheap. avoid taxes - they are mega expensive. if you want a adult nice quiet break try a different hotel as this hotel has a kids club so loads of kids around. you are half hour out of Chania so If you want to be closer to things to do stay closer to Chania other wise looking at €50 return for a taxi or you can get a bus. also look out for hotel notices to say there is a shuttle but into Chania - we dint get told there would be one the day after we visited Chania - slightly annoying and would have saved us €30. visit Almyrida for the day - take your beach towel etc, as a delightful little town, and also go for a traditional Greek Kebab in Kalyves it is about €2.50 and the pitta they wrap it in is divine and fresh - you wont want a English kebab after that ! (you can walk there from this hotel, partly along the road, then you have to go along the beach a little then back onto the road - there is also a supermarket which you will see as you are walking to Kalyes. so perfect for kids, swimming then animation entertainment etc

Gorgeous, relaxing hotelPosted Sep 23, 2015
Just got back from this hotel with my boyfriend and had such a lovely time. The hotel is out the way (which is what we wanted) the views are gorgeous as you approach the hotel and the lobby looks onto the sea.. On arrival we were given a room upgrade which was amazing!! The staff and facilities are lovely and we would definitely return or recommend this hotel.

Lovely, peaceful setting...Posted Sep 1, 2015
Pros: Food choice
Cons: Better evening entertainment, and kids club for 10 year olds.
Location: Nothing really outside of the resort except by taxi, pretty secluded.
Great holiday, lovely setting and beautiful hotel. Food was great, only criticism was that we went with 2 ten year olds, and the club was 4-9, then teenagers, so really missed our boys age. Very few English, big Dutch presence... The entertainment was ok, but come 11pm the bars closed and the resort went very quiet. If you get an opportunity to go, go on the boat trip to the lagoon. Long day but worth it... Absolutely stunning!

Decent hotel, disappointing beach.Posted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: Freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast. Some other all-inclusives charge extra for this. Bathrobes and slippers. Lovely rooms and sea view.
Cons: Please improve your all-inclusive wine. IT WAS TERRIBLE. Extend your snacks and ice creams to ALL DAY as in other all-inclusives.
Location: The hotel is out in the pits. If you don't hire a car or take a taxi anywhere you have to rely on the animation teams evening entertainment.
Good points: Excellent staff who were always very approachable and very helpful. Loved the layout of the hotel, as it ran the length of the beach and was not a high rise building. Spacious rooms. Food acceptable, although the one fish dish on offer every day was the same fish dressed in a different way and always undercooked. Not so good points: There were mixed reviews regarding the beach, some said it was shingle, others sandy. We were looking for a predominantly sandy beach but I gave these mixed reviews the benefit of the doubt and hoped that it would be sandy. IT WAS NOT. Worse still there was a small river that flowed directly into the sea in this location. From past experience Crete is full of little streams and rivers which makes the sea water quite cold. it was extremely unpleasant trying to swim in this sea having first to negotiate rocks etc. to get in! There is a swimming pool, but we are definitely 'sea' people so we found a lovely beach at Almyrida 15 minutes by taxi, which we went to every day and which was warm and very sandy! As all-inclusive guests, we therefore missed the lunch every day although the hotel did pack us off with a baguette, water and a piece of fruit each - very poor substitute. Also I'm sorry to say that the hotel is in the middle of nowhere, the nearest village is not a 15 minute walk away, it's more like 30 to 40 minutes, believe me we did it and with 3 older teenagers (NOT little children who would slow us down).

Helpful staff, great situation for swimming with lovely bay views. Very relaxing stay. Taxi transfers from airport efficiently arranged by staff. Good food, comfortable rooms, friendly but not intrusive atmosphere. Will plan to return.

Not 5 stars, not really all inclusive.Posted Aug 22, 2015 on Hotels
Not a real all inclusive. Not a real 5 stars. Food is 3 stars at best and insulting at its worst. Beach is nice, staff is also nice. Bring your wallet with you if you want to eat and drink something other then bad drinks and food.
