3 km ride on a bad road gets you started on your

Don't blink or you will miss the dirt road to travel to the top of the hill. The location was secluded and excellent views of the volcano and lake region. We didn't have A/C but it cooled off at night so you don't miss it. The rooms are paper thin so you can hear conversations in the whole building. Because there wasn't TV either, everyone went to bed early so it wasn't a bother, unless the neighbor snores (we had a snorer). Did get food poisoning and it took a week to get my system back to normal.

Place to rest

Posted Feb 21, 2012
Pros: The hyppie style
Cons: It is too expensive
Location: It is wonderful
It is a very quiet location. Its look like in the 70ts,a little hyppie Staff and service are very nice But price for the rooms or cabinas or meals are too expensive. But the view on the lake Arenal and the path to take a walk are awesome. I would recommend it but the price should be lower. It is a good place to rest and meditate.

On a Mountain Top

Posted Jan 9, 2012 on Hotels
Very nice, quiet, out of the way place to stay. If you're looking to be away from the hustle and bustle for a while, this is the place to be. Hardly anyone was here during my stay as this place is off the beaten path. The grounds were well kept, and the staff was very nice and accommodating. You should have your own transportation if you stay here-I always do anyway, but I don't know of any way to do the surrounding area without it as far as buses go (or if there are even any in this area at all) since this area and hotel is not too close to any main population center. Taxis are out of the question. Don't think there were any in this area. The food was good at the hotel also. Safety would not be an issue for anyone. The grounds are extensive, and a number of buildings comprise the complex. There is a variety of types of rooms and bungalows. Exploration in this area was enjoyable. The views here are terrific of both lakes, walking and hiking can be done without driving anywhere, and the evenings were amazing for me with the clouds rolling in. Swimming can be done at both lakes, although Lake Coter could be intimidating as it would be an on your own adventure. Guide assistance is available and would be helpful if you choose, as there is a local person doing this, although I did not use him.

Posted Feb 17, 2014 on Hotels
