The best thing this property has going is the spectacular view of the volcano and the grounds outside! It’s been said before — the room and main areas (restaurant and lobby) all could use a major “refresh”. The decor looks stale and the rooms could use a fresh coat of paint, new linens and curtains. The towels and linens for a “spa” hotel were very thin.
Service points of check-in and out were awkward and took too long. Specifically, they asked me to write down my credit card number — after they already ran it. Then at check out, I had to re-present the same card that they already had on file. We probably spent 20 minutes in the lobby waiting for the check-in process to be completed after we had driven 4.5 hours to get there.
If you want to charge a premium and present your hotel as “luxury”, then there’s some major improvements. This isn’t a luxury hotel by any standards I’ve experienced. It’s a “nice” hotel with a lovely view.
