Good hotel close to the volcano!Posted May 13, 2015
Pros: Location close to volcano, shops, restaurants and hot springs, fabulous views of the volcano, well kept grounds and lovely cabin like rooms with patio
Cons: A supply of plates and cutlery would be most appreciated as breakfast is not included and there is a "kitchen" area with a full size fridge.
Location: 15 to 20 mins walk into La Fortuna for shops and restaurants. Very close to Arenal volcano and all the hot springs. Supermarket across the street.
We stayed in the Villas Vilma for 4 nights and the room was basic but clean and with views of the volcano from your patio hammock which made it well worth the money. Its close to everything either a short walk or taxi ride away. Pool area was clean and nice. No breakfast provided but they will give you coffee for your room on request. A supermarket is across the street with some restaurants all providing good affordable meals. If you are booking tours on arrival ask for Rainforest Explorers - absolutely the best tour guides in Costa Rica. We had Edgar and William - wonderful. Booking through Anywhere Costa Rica highly recommended as they never let us down. Hot springs are close by and vary in size and atmosphere - we used the Eco Termales which are smaller and cheaper but good rural atmosphere and good restaurant.

Modest and QuaintPosted Apr 23, 2015 on Hotels
We had a good time here. The staff was very helpful and she was clearly a jack of all trades. breakfast was great and the pool was nice. The room was a bit dated and the beds not so comfortable.... Limited towels and the bathroom needed some TLC. We really appreciated the hospitality and its a reasonable price for the accommodation.

Habitaciones cómodas y muy limpias, muy cerca de Baldi Hot Springs, la atención en recepción excelente, el área de la piscina y el jacuzzi impecables. Volvería a hospedarme.

Good location. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Less than 5 min drive to Fortuna. Pretty grounds with awesome views of the volcano. Rooms are ok.
