A few disappointments....

This hotel is very beautiful and top-notch, and a lot of fun for families. It is, however, quite Disneyish -- quality over quantity in some ways. The food and food service was mediocre. The Club Rio activities are fun, but are not adventures by any stretch of the imagination -- the river rafting trip took ten minutes (ten very fun minutes), and was going to be repeated (carry kayaks, travel via truck to starting place, etc.) but we opted for the river float instead -- again, a very fun but ridiculously short ride.
Finally, worst of all -- someone dropped and broke my laptop computer when my bags were transported to our car when we were leaving. It either fell out of the bag, or someone dropped the bag on a rock. It was dented and not working when I got to Monteverde, and I used it right before I left this hotel. I wish someone had owned up to this, as it was a very frustrating and expensive discovery.
