one thing

Posted Dec 22, 2016
Good location, very elegant place steeped in history. The one major quibble is that a hotel of this stature stoops to nickel and diming. Ten soles for a bottle of water in the room. 35 soles a day to have internet in the room. Felt petty. Staff was friendly but not super knowledgeable about the city and environs

This hotel is beautifully equipped !

Posted Aug 5, 2016
Pros: I loved my room! I felt pampered and so very comfortable!
Cons: Since Arequipa is a business center I was surprised that Wifi was only available in the common area- if you want it in room you have to pay.
Location: The location is ideal for museums, local sights and tours. I was lucky to have Ukumari Expeditions organizing my trip so I saw the best sights!
I started my trip in Arequipa and was truly impressed by this hotel. The lobby gives you the feel of the Andean culture but the rooms are modern and very well designed with the traveler in mind. I wish there had been WiFi in the room itself- not just the lobby.

Nice hotel in a central location

Posted Jul 24, 2016
Pros: Historical building, central location
Cons: Free internet in lobby was slow.
Location: Free walking tour whose meeting point was nearby was excellent, lots of history and gave ideas about what to revisit.
After a long trip from Colca canyon it it was nice to settle into this comfortable hotel for two nights. Staff very helpful. At breakfast eaten outside I was cold and on mentioning it to the waiter, he lit the heater and wheeled it over to my table.

Nice hotel, hard beds and pillows

Posted Jul 7, 2016
The breakfast is standard, nothing to write home about. But my primary reason for staying in a hotel is sleep. Hard beds and yards pillows with an inside room do not a great nights sleep make. A solid three star because the staff are wonderful.

convenient, friendly, upscale

Posted Jun 5, 2016
Pros: Very friendly service, great breakfast, comfortable bed.
Cons: Put chairs on the balcony. Warm the lobby floor more, especially the breakfast dining room.
Location: A very short walk to the colonial center: Monastery, stores, restaurants and cathedral.
Lovely gracious hotel, right in the old town. Room is warm. Beds and pillows great. Good cable connection, but wireless only in lobby. Breakfast very good. On request, made a perfect omelet. (My only complaint: Bring a sweater to breakfast -- the first floor is open.) Staff lovely.

The Best Hotel

Posted Feb 17, 2016
We were a group of six people between my family from Lima and New Jersey. Our first impression was great, staff was always cordial and polite, the architecture has a welcoming vibe and they always have hot coca tea available in the comfortable and big lobby area. The food in the breakfast buffet was AMAZING! The bar and restaurant were very cool and food and drinks were excellent. My boyfriend and I had our romantic Valentine's Day dinner at the restaurant inside the hotel and it was perfect: it had a colonial touch with big wood windows and old big paintings. I would recommend this hotels to anyone coming to Arequipa and I will definitely come back to stay at the Casa Andina Private Collection.

Very good hotel to stay in Arequipa

Posted Feb 15, 2016
Pros: Almost everything
Cons: It may have a GYM and perhaps a swimming pool. The internet connection may be fast enough for downloading e-mails.
Location: This hotel is very good located in Arequipa, most of the attractions of the city are a few blocks away, it is very nice to walk around the hotel.
Casa Andina Private Collection Arequipa is a very nice hotel, very good located. I would have expected a hotel like this to have gym and maybe swimming pool, which it does not have, this would be the only things I may suggest they improve, anyway, so far if I was traveling again to Arequipa for tourism I would have this hotel in mind. The "free internet connection" was too slow

Super hotel right in the centre, loads of charact.

Posted Feb 2, 2016
Pros: All great but staff (especially Victor) were excellent.
Cons: The wifi was expensive and most places are free now. Free wifi in public areas but you have to keep rejoining. Tiresome.
Location: Perfect location, 200m from Plaza De Armas, 100m from Main Convent (a must see city within a city - take the guided tour!)
I guess we were lucky, after a double flight arrived late and were shown into the most super room (101) in the original part of the building. Three huge arched ceiling rooms about 5m high I guess) huge bedroom, huge lounges and dining rooms , huge bathroom ! Victor was our member of staff and he was so warm and friendly. Very clean and professional, amazing , lobby, bar areas all in the old building. 200m from Plaza Armas. Perfect.

The hotel has a great location and very appealing public spaces. The rooms in the new part of the hotel lack character, but are spotless and comfortable. Excellent breakfast.
