Nice hotel

Posted Nov 15, 2017
This is a good hotel, conveniently located close to the Metro (about a 10 minute walk from the Pentagon City Metro station). The staff is friendly, and the rooms are very nice. One exception - the shower took forever to yield hot water, but this may simply have been a problem with my specific room.

Shame about the large group!

Posted Nov 2, 2017
Pros: Staff were by and large friendly and helpful.
Cons: Wardrobe is poor and located in such a way as to create a pinchpoint in the room. Make Earl Grey tea readily available!!
Location: Free shuttle to Crystal City shops is useful. Opposite the Pentagon so handy for a visit! Around $7 dollars by Uber to central sites.
A youth conference of 15/16 year olds (hundreds of them). meant that at times, the lobby area and bar become overrun and very very noisy, to the point that we took desserts to our room to get some piece. Food is reasonable, but expensive and nothing particularly noteworthy. The revolving restaurant has spectacular views as does the pool. Not the greatest location. The design of the wardrobe meant it was impossible to hang dresses and skirts.

Location, Location, Location!

Posted Oct 31, 2017
Pros: location, clean rooms
Location: Pentagon City Mall, Harris Teeter, Pentagon Memorial
I'm a DMV local who wanted a quick getaway for the weekend and I'm so glad I found this gem! Perfect location, exit right off the bridge, about 15mins from the city, about an 8min walk to the beautiful Pentagon City Mall and other great places to dine and shop! Very beautiful hotel, rooms are comfy, clean and room service is great. I've found my new spot to get away from home, while at home. I recommenced this hotel for everyone.

Thank you for taking the time to review! I am extremely sorry and disappointed to hear about the issues you faced with your room. I can imagine the frustration. I apologize that you had a disappointing experience with a manager, it shocks me that they would ever respond to a guest issue with a chuckle. I will be sure to follow-up with our housekeeping and engineering departments. I hope we can better serve you next time you come to our hotel. Thank you.

Great location, crazy expensive

Posted Oct 11, 2017
Pros: Cleanliness, location.
Cons: Value, restaurant.
You should stay here if you place a high premium on convenience. The location was great for my participation in the Army Ten Miler event because we were able to walk to and from the start and finish. The room rate and associated expenses were very high for the quality. When you stay here, consider the additional expenses for parking ($32 overnight), meals ($20 breakfast buffet), and WiFi (did not pursue cost out of frustration). The room and bathroom were very clean, so that was a huge benefit. We went to the Cafe for lunch. Upon being seated in this restaurant that was maybe at 15% capacity, we sat for 15 minutes with no attention from the staff, other than a passing employee who glanced over and frowned, then continued on. Another employee made 2 laps to refill a beverage, with no consideration for serving other customers. There was another ignored party of 4 who had been seated long before us, judging by their mostly empty water glasses. With 2 hungry children, we decided to get up and leave the restaurant, completely without protest from any employees. In short, nice facility in a convenient location, but short on value and service.

Thank you for taking the time to review your past stay with us. We are fortunate to be so close to the running route for the Army 10 miler and look forward to welcoming back so many familiar faces that run each year. I do apologize you did not find good value in your stay with us. I am extremely sorry about the incident that occurred in the café. This is very unlike our staff to execute poor service, so I do apologize for that. I am happy that you found the location to be convenient, and we look forward to serving you better next time.

Nice hotel and helpful staff

Posted Oct 9, 2017
Pros: Location, value, comfortable room
Cons: Room temp was bad. Could not get the A/C to work properly. Bed seemed old or the mattress needed to be replaced
Location: Close to shopping and metro stop.
Good hotel and great location, close to Pentagon City metro stop. Chocolate cookies and water upon check in are a nice touch. Ate dinner in the bar and was very satisfied. Overall, a good place to stay and I'd stay at the property again.

Thank you for the great feedback and review! I am glad you found comfort and value within your stay. I would like to apologize on behalf of the issues you faced in your room. I am happy to have our engineering department take a look at the A.C. unit in that room. I will alert housekeeping of the mattress comments. Great hotel with courtesy shuttle services!

Posted Oct 7, 2017
Our family really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The rooms were clean & the beds were very comfortable! The entire hotel staff was always courteous and the hotel offered frequent courtesy shuttle service from the hotel to the local shopping mall/Metro station, as well as another courtesy shuttle to/from the airport. We would highly recommend this hotel to our friends when visiting Washington,DC

Nice location

Posted Sep 25, 2017
The hotel and staff were very nice, professional and at your service. I did however, have a really bad, last night at the hotel, at no fault of the hotel but because of the guests that were in the room next to mine. They were very loud most of the night, at times I felt it was on purpose. They even tried to open the adjoining door, multiple times, which scared the living day-lights out of me, because I am a woman that was traveling alone, so it was very hard for me to sleep or get comfortable, even though the door was locked on my end. Regardless of this experience, I would still recommend this hotel, because of the staff and location.

Tito, Thank you very much for choosing to stay at the DoubleTree. I'm happy to see you had such positive interactions with the staff members. We do our utmost best to create a comfortable guest experience & I am so sorry to hear about the disturbances that you faced during your stay, and I can completely empathize with how you felt. If anything like this was to occur again, I do urge you to call the front desk and we will be able to send security up to handle the situation. We look forward to having you come back and stay with us again.

Marine Corps Reunion

Posted Sep 25, 2017
Pros: Ease of check in and check out.
Cons: Lower cost of cafeteria prices.
Location: For the chaos of DC, it is about as convenient as can be expected. In the immediate vicinity of the hotel, there is little to do.
Expensive place to stay. Difficult place to get into. Rooms are excellent. Food, while very good, is terribly over priced. Same breakfast buffet that is $20.00 is free at other hotels. Bar drinks are terribly over priced and the main bar in the lobby ending service at 11:00 p.m. is unsatisfactory.

Frank, Thank you for your feedback! I'm glad you had a smooth check-in & check out process & I hope you were able to enjoy the DoubleTree cookie. Many of our guests do enjoy the location being right outside of the city. There are not shops or restaurants immediately outside of our hotel because we face a highway, but a quick 5 minute walk behind the hotel there is much to do in the Crystal City area. Our shuttle service will take you directly to those shops/restaurants so you wouldn't even have to walk! The DoubleTree is a full-service hotel, and based on way the hotel is structured, we do not offer complimentary breakfast unless you are a Hilton Honors Gold or Diamond Member. You may have stayed at other hotels where a breakfast buffet is complimentary, and they most likely would have been limited-service hotels, or hotels that are structured to have breakfast included, it depends on multiple factors. We end service in the lobby bar as a courtesy to our guests who stay in the rooms directly above the bar and we must adhere to our County's laws as well. I am happy to see that you were able to enjoy your stay overall! I hope you enjoyed your Marine Corps Reunion & we hope to welcome you back again!
