Good value family hitel

Posted Oct 23, 2017
Pros: Central location, very clean.
Cons: The mattresses and the door locks. Also anti slip baths with grab rails would be an advantage.
Location: . Went to the tunnels in Arras, the FRENCH National War cemetery, Vimy Ridge, the new Canadian memorial Hill 70 near Lens. Good restaurant s.
8 of us stayed for a weekend visiting WW1 sites. We found Arras to be a central , friendly town, and the hotel was righ5 in the centre. Easy to walk to restaurants and cafes. The rooms are small, but adequate for sleeping. The mattresses were odd as they slipped off the beds in the night! But overall very comfortable.

Clean, modern, centrally located budget hotel

Posted Oct 14, 2017
Pros: Location, cleanliness, value
Cons: Breakfast
Location: Ideal base for visiting war memorials
A typical Ibis hotel - well modernised, spotlessly clean, friendly and helpful staff. The room was tiny with barely space to open two suitcases and essentially zero storage but the bathroom was modern and everything worked, bed comfortably firm and third floor view of the sky, reasonably quiet at night even with the window open. Biggest plus is the location, right between the Grand and Petit Place with huge choice of bars and restaurants and free parking at weekends (there is no hotel parking). A little tough to find the first time and no convenient vehicle unloading spot. Buffet breakfast pricey and inadequately supervised (things kept running out) but everything else was great value for a short-term stay.

Central location

Pros: Location and view from bay window in room.
Cons: Have a fridge in the room
Location: Two blocks from the train station and right next to town square. Based myself here while doing a WW1 Western Front tour.
Found the room quite more dated than lobby/reception area. Not having a fridge made it difficult to store local cheeses and wine purchased locally. An easy walk from the train station and close to town centre. Staff pleasant. Had just finished a two week Trafalgar tour and found level of this accommodation a step down.

Nice town - poor hotel

Posted Aug 1, 2017
Pros: Comfortable bed.
Cons: All the décor in the bedrooms, the corridors and the stairways. Very dilapidated.
We have stayed in many Ibis hotels so know what to expect but this one was very disappointing. Very difficult to find, bad signage in the town itself which is all one-way streets or pedestrianised. This is not just us, the receptionist agreed it was poor. Eventually parked and walked to Hotel - note there is no nearby car parking. Hotel is very rundown and in need of total renovation. Large, clean and comfortable bed is the only positive. Ibis should note that a shower above a bath really requires a non-slip bath. Quite dangerous. We thought the price for a continental breakfast was steep (by Ibis standards) so didn't breakfast there. Also we had to remove the car from its parking place before 9am. Arras is a lovely town so would visit again but not at this hotel. Glad we got a discounted price as to pay €69 would have added insult to injury.

Cozy hotel

Posted Jul 31, 2017
Location: There are many cafe's and restaurants nearby and also many touristic locations and monuments to take pictures.
My experience at this hotel was very good. The room was ok and the staff were very helpful.

Pleasant but just adequate

Posted Jul 16, 2017
Room was very small. No room to put up the folding chair which was supplied. Air con was added on later and didnt really work well and was noisy. Safe didnt work. Staff were pleasant and helpful. No kettle or tea/coffee making facilities.

Pros: The room was quiet, cool and the bed was comfy. It was not a large room but adequate for a night's stay!
Cons: The breakfast add on was horrible. All the food was almost gone. We had to as for bread for toast. The eggs did not cook, no water in the cooker.
Location: Good location, close to the square.
Our one night stay was great. We received a great welcome from a very helpful desk attendant. He even arranged transport for us to Vimy Ridge.

Well positioned hotel

Stop over en route home. Hotel has very small rooms with very little space around bed. Great for a one night stop but not a long term stay. Breakfast was very good.

Great location

A good clean hotel, excellent for the price. The key thing for us was the location, on top of the battle fields/memorials we were visiting. Also very much enjoyed the beer in very friendly local bars
