Nasty, noisy gardener first thing in the morning!
We thought that it was absolutely crazy and ridiculous that the hotel should arrange for the gardener to come first thing in the morning to cut the grass! He started at 08:00, driving the lawn mower (small tractor) up and down past our room doors. When we walked one of the dogs, he drove straight at him, frightening him almost to death. Then he came back with an electric strimmer and went up and down again .. then if that wasn't enough, he returned with the very noisy leaf-blower! By then it was 09.30 ..one and a half hours of very noisy machinery right outside our rooms. Also, when I was walking my dog, around the corner from my room, it was not very pleasant to see the gardener relieving himself up against the hedge! When the hotel has all day to arrange for the gardener to come and cut the grass it would seem logical for him to come and make a noise after the guests have checked out and left. We had been help up in traffic the day we arrived and didn't get to bed until very late .. we did not appreciate all that noise outside our room doors for one and a half hours first thing in the morning. It is much nicer for guests to have a quiet time when they are waking up, to think about their own work etc..

An excellent and very reasonable hotel with good food and very friendly and helpful staff. Location is excellent for working at nearby port and bus station is a short walk away where you can get frequent buses into Bordeaux centre or further afield.

A good pit stop
After a long journey the Campanile provided much needed basic facilities to a high standard. A comfortable night followed by a varied, tasty breakfast.

Great stopover on a long journey.
Very good for a stopover on route to Spain from the UK. Just off the motorway, with plenty of eateries nearby.

Absolutely perfect.
We have both stayed at many, many Campaniles for over thirty years and yet - for no obvious reason - this was our best stay in a Campanile ever and my wife and I both agree.

good deal for the price and a quick stopover
The hotel was easy to find and the staff were friendly. There is not much in the area, and the restaurant closed early (we arrived at 21:30 and it closed at 22:00 on a Saturday). We walked to a nearby restaurant and the food was mediocre. The room was small but functional. Beds were alright and heat worked well. There were no English channels and when we connected our HDMI cable to the TV, there input function did not work. Wifi was not easy to connect, but eventually we succeeded. Overall, good deal for the price and a quick stopover.

Avoid at all costs.
Miles from anywhere - expensive to get to by taxi - awful moody night staff - bar shuts (I mean , what hotel bar shuts at half ten with some thirsty guests arriving ?) , kitchen shut - a room for three that was just about big enough for 2 - food remnants on floor including a couple of mouldy dates. All at a heavily inflated price due to the Euro 2016 competition. I will never set foot in a Campanile hotel anywhere in the world ever again - I would rather sleep on a park bench.

We were at the hotel at 11:15pm, because navigation battery died. Nobody was there and we could not get in, because the automated check in machine was not working. We had to find another hotel in the middle of the night. Really poor hotel.

Check in issues, despite apparently sorting with Expedia before traveling. Motel style rooms, very dated and a bit grubby. Noisy road running past the hotel, shutters didn't work. Triple room actually a twin room with a crappy camp bed. Glad we didn't pay the standard room rate of €130!

Auto Check-in Malfunction and Huge Spider
We arrived late at about 11:30pm. No place in the description did it say they used an automated check-in system. The automated system was not working and every single sign and message on the machine was in French... No options for English. We were fortunate to have a nice French couple that spoke some English help us out and they called a number and a man who was living in one of the rooms brought us a key. If we had not had the help, we would have been without a room that night. To top it off, room had cobwebs and dust on the floors, and when we pulled out the extra bed there was a huge spider crawling across it and onto the person with me. Not a good experience at this property. We did not have the breakfast, so have no comment about that.

Conveniently located just off the motorway Nice quiet Motel with adequate restaurant Helpful and polite staff Who speak English which is always a help The room was equipped with a roll down shutter which kept out the daylight and also made it almost soundproof On the downside the walls in my room were splattered with what looked like Beer No attempt had been made to clean the mess Which was on two walls A shame as this was the only problem I encountered

Convenient for the Bordeaux ring east
Room was in a block in which we had a ground floor room, this means that those above you can be heard walking around. The room was spacious and comfortable but the bathroom had a lot of mould on the wall. The TV is typical in France, only French speaking channels. The hotel is convenient if you are on the Bordeaux ring road

Very disappointing. No elevator, rooms were tiny and poorly lit. Very cramped. Overall, it felt very rundown and shabby. Wifi connection was terrible. The only high note was that the staff was very friendly and helpful to the extent that they could be.

Only stayed for one night, driving through to Spain. We have stayed in Campaniles in the past so knew what to expect. Air conditioning was okay but we have noticed there is no longer an extractor fan in the bathroom, so the steam doesn't clear and neither do the smells! The mentioned complimentary biscuits also no longer exist, this was also so in the other Campanile we stayed at. The Starter buffet is nowhere near as good as it used to be but I haven't stayed at one of these for about 6 years.

Wish I'd known better!
I've never stayed at a campanile chain hotel, so I had no idea what to expect, but I certainly hoped for better. First of all, the location is RIGHT off a very busy street (probably considered a highway). Secondly, the room was extremely cramped. It was clean enough on the surface, but I spotted several dead bugs. My room was on the first floor, and the main door was so flimsy that it felt as though an intruder could barge in without any problem. I didn't feel unsafe per se, but in another location I might have. The pictures of saw of the hotel were extremely deceiving- they made the rooms look much nicer (and bigger) than they actually were. Lastly, we were a party of 3- the bed for the third person was a joke. It was a pullout from under one of the main beds and was rickety and uncomfortable.

Campanile hotels have changed all their bedding and mattresses. The latter are somewhat hard. Fine if you are fit but if you are someone who needs a soft mattress they are definitely not for you.

Très bon séjour. Il faudrait isoler plus les portes et fenêtres pour ne pas entendre le bruit des voitures à l'extérieur. Mais hôtel très sympa et personnel très accueillant. Merci !
