The room itself was rundown and dirty. Water from the shower was leaking through the wall and the TV for the room was broken. They use cards for room keys and they kept not working. I had to go to the front desk three times for new room keys.

Only had hot water one day out of 5. Staff was unconcerned about the inconvenience. 24 hour buffet was shut down and only open 3 hours at a time. You can order room service - but it is limited to 2 sandwiches, 2 desserts, nachos, and 2 salads. Staff, in general, is unhappy and it shows - even when we are tipping extra. Very, very disappointed in this property.

The property itself is wonderful, the pool is great and the staff outside is wonderful… the buffet is really spectacular… food is flavorful and so many selections… the hotel rooms need updating and the air conditioning and humidity in the room is not good… the thermostat controls need to be replaced.. when we first arrived, the room smelled musty and moldy… the maintenance came and cleaned filters and sprayed a perfume to hide the mustiness… they air handling units need to be replaced and updated … the rooms can use a fresh coat of paint… the dampness in the rooms wouldn’t let the clothes in your room feel fresh and everything felt wet…. We asked the desk for a dehumidifier but they did not have enough to go around… a family came the day before we left and they could not tolerate the smell so they were leaving. The ownership need to focus on this aspect and if they do, it will be a 5 star resort !!! Investment spending will bring them huge dividends for the success of their future

Our stay was overall ok for an all inclusive. Not really any onsite dining options except for the same repetitive food at the buffet. Pool gets really overcrowded I hope they clean it daily because I witnessed some unsanitary things taking place in the pool. But I love Aruba so that definitely contributes to my thoughts.

Our stay was fine. We found that the resort is a bit dated for our taste as was the air con in the junior suite it didn't work well. The room was very damp everything felt wet at all times. Otherwise the staff were all very nice and attentive and breakfast buffet was very good.

1. Rooms and HVAC have to be improved. It smelled like mildew (which is a type of mold) through the rooms and corridors. 2. The state of rooms is a bit unsafe. I pulled the key out of the slot that turns the power on and sparks flew. The bedside lamp was just barely handing on to the wall. The couch was covered in black spots. 3. Staff was super nice and tried to be as accommodating as possible. 4. Hiring children - I was shocked when I walked by the pool one night and saw people drilling into the cement or tile. You could see the dust it created and there were three children working with two adults. The children were under sixteen and were not even given protective masks! 5. I do not think the RIU corporation cares about their staff - I heard first person accounts which I’m afraid to state bc I fear for their repercussions. Most of the staff was not from Aruba, which puzzled me bc staff at other hotels seemed to be mostly from Aruba. I worry about corporations using migrant labor to avoid labor laws. 6. Despite having lots of great restaurants, the room service menu was a bit of a joke - sandwhich, soda, and some desert was really all that was available. My toddler got very ill and taking them to one of the restaurants was not a great idea, so I went to the buffet and got food from there and brought it to him when he was too sick to get out of bed. Oh man did they hate that. They said I had to make the plate the. Give it to room service for them to deliver.

having to get up at 6 am on vacation to claim a chair or beach hut was very disappointing. Some of the guests were putting towels on overnite! Also there is no escape from the sun , the umbrellas at the pool do not protect you, nor do the overhead coverings, the sun comes through.

Second day key cards didn’t work, no easy way to get to Lobby from other building. My sister, who walks with a cane, had to walk quite a distance to and from just to get a card to get in. Day 3 we had a giant cockroach in our room. Offered to move us to a different room, not even a comparable one but one with no view of beach which we had.

Wonderful on the beach location. Beautiful weather. Friendly staff. Great place to kick back and relax. 2 complaints (probably at most all-inclusive properties). Difficult if not impossible to access restaurants…..1st come 1st serve doesn’t work !!!!! Also, the ever present “save a chair”. “Save a spot on the beach” fiasco. ALL spots “reserved” with towels and nobody in sight for hours. VERY frustrating !!!! Not sure how to make people follow the policies, but there must be a better way……enough to make us pick a smaller property with better control of spots !!

Had high expectations. Didn’t come to light. Bar employees and bartenders were the best. Other than that not much good to say. Booked suite and far from a suite. In short had to retrieve my own bags to start of the stay. Front desk was called and no help. No tissues in room ran out of toilet paper no hooks to hang towels or robes in bathroom. Crappy little television. Asked for extra pillows nothing. Huge area to sit outside two crappy chairs and broken table.

It's a pretty old hotel, the rooms had an odd smell and are definitely due for an update but they worked. Most of the staff was great, a few not so much. The entertainment by the pool was seriously lacking, It would be nice if they at least played music at the pool during the day or all afternoon. The entertainment at the seemed to last anywhere from 15 minutes to about 60 minutes/day. Staff down by the pool area were awesome and friendly.

They have a conspiracy going on down on the beach in the Palapas. You go down there at 6 o’clock in the morning to reserve one and they’re already taken because the supervisor and his team are getting paid by people staying at the resort to get the Palapas that are closest to the beach. The other problem there was they say no reservations but when you go to the steakhouse at 6 o’clock to eat there already filled up for the evening. We stay at Riu hotels frequently and never ever had a issue but the beach issue was huge. They’re making hundreds of dollars every day or maybe thousands of dollars every day because like I said they are getting paid from the customers to save the Palapas.

Our recent stay at the all-inclusive Riu Palace in Aruba was simply wonderful. The staff, notably Nellie and Junior, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. The pools and bars were pristine, the beaches breathtaking, and the location ideal for exploring. The only downside was the slightly outdated rooms, but this was overshadowed by the exceptional service and stunning surroundings. Overall, a dreamy escape to paradise that we can't wait to revisit.

I went to celebrate a birthday! It was a couple trip to create memories!! Their staff were amazing and friendly! When I checked in they free upgraded our room for being a gold member with expedia! With no additional cost! They gave us a room with a huge balcony where we were able to see the night show from there including a jacuzzi! It was a great experience!! Their variety of food was so good and they had the most amazing team in their restaurants ! Each night we had the experience to make a reservation for their different restaurants beside the main restaurant buffet style. Such a great experience!! Riu palace never fails to amaze me! Highly recommended

Nice property very safe for solo travelers. Right next to the beach so I loved that. It was kind of hard to get a palapa or chair by the pool if you didn’t go out early around 6/7am which was a little aggravating at times. The room was nice however the sliding door on the balcony was broken and hard to slide open, the shower head was a bit broken, the sink drain had some rust on it, & the sheets had some stains on the edge, so updates definitely need to be made to the room. The food was good it wasn’t all that but considering I booked this trip last minute it was not a terrible experience but an average one!

My first stay at The RIU PALACE ARUBA was 12 years ago and I really enjoyed my stay and the cleanliness of the facility. I decided to return this February 2024 and I was disappointed with condition of some things at the facility : The ice machine on the 3rd floor was out of service and you had to go to the 6th or 9th floor for ice , The refrigerator in my room did not work properly , The main bathrooms needed to be monitored and cleaned in a more timely manner and The air conditioning left our cloths musty smelling and we had to wash all of our clothing when we returned to our home in Florida. I Will Not Return to RIU ARUBA, but I have already Booked a week's stay at The RIU Montego Bay Jamacia for next January 2025 Because it was built in 2020 and looks like a much Newer and Up to Date Resort. The staff and restaurants were excellent, but I really think this resort is in need of some upgrades? The Resort Is Definitely Showing Its Age
