This is the back of the Biltmore, I thought this was a nice pic :) We stayed at the Inn on the Biltmore and the Sunrises are just amazing. This is a phone pic but I just love it.. Fabulous way to spend the day :) Exploring the grounds of the Biltmore Estate. The mansion built on this property is the largest privately owned home in the United States. Antler Hill Village is located near the famous Biltmore House, America’s largest home. It includes 8,000 acres of beautiful scenery, historic gardens and a winery. There are wonderful holiday light displays this time of year and free wine tastings. Just my prospective. Beautiful flowers everywhere during spring season at the Biltmore Gardens The Biltmore House was the family home to George and Edith Vanderbilt and opened on Christmas Eve, 1895. The Cecil family opened its’ doors to the public in 1930 in an attempt to increase tourism during the Great Depression and to generate income to preserve the estate. It houses magnificent 16th century tapestries, a library with 10,000 books, 65 fireplaces, an indoor pool, and a bowling alley. This is the main Banquet Hall that has a seven story, 70 foot ceiling and tapestries from the 1500’s. It was the place for elegant dinner parties and celebrations. Built between 1889 and 1895 by George Vanderbilt II the house has 250 rooms totaling 179,926 square feet. The slate roof tiles were individually attached by wire to the attic's steel frame. They can easily have you run up a tab if you're not careful on which package options you choose. The food at the stable cafe was AMAZING! #architecture The most amazing place ever, the sheer oppulance of Biltmore is just incredible, but more than that, is that one man had the foresight to lay out this incredible place for us to all enjoy. this is a must vist, and one that I would call the 8th wonder of the world. There is so much to see at the Biltmore Estate (you actually need two days), that it's easy to miss the orchid house. But don't! This house is a must see on your next stop in Asheville,NC. Just awesome! The sky bar is a very sought-after place at sunset! They have three decks overlooking the city and Carolina mountains and fancy cocktails. Dobra Tea Room on Lexington Ave. in Asheville. An amazing experience and a ton of tea options! You can sit at a table or kick your shoes off and sit on a pillow in the back. Really fun place! Peace and calm in the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina. Biltmore Estate is exquisite at the holidays. It is a must all seasons of the year. Reserve entry tickets on their website in advance.
