This is the back of the Biltmore, I thought this was a nice pic :) Fabulous way to spend the day :) The Biltmore House was the family home to George and Edith Vanderbilt and opened on Christmas Eve, 1895. The Cecil family opened its’ doors to the public in 1930 in an attempt to increase tourism during the Great Depression and to generate income to preserve the estate. It houses magnificent 16th century tapestries, a library with 10,000 books, 65 fireplaces, an indoor pool, and a bowling alley. This is the main Banquet Hall that has a seven story, 70 foot ceiling and tapestries from the 1500’s. It was the place for elegant dinner parties and celebrations. Built between 1889 and 1895 by George Vanderbilt II the house has 250 rooms totaling 179,926 square feet. The slate roof tiles were individually attached by wire to the attic's steel frame. Do you spot me?
I so wanna get lost here! #Green
