Good Proximity and Excellent Staff

Posted Dec 5, 2016
The staff/management at the hotel was great and very helpful. We were even offered a ride by the person manning the front desk. The breakfast in the morning was good. The proximity to Downtown Asheville was also a plus.

A fabulous alternative to chain hotels!

Posted Nov 12, 2016
Location: Beautiful views of the trees in the yard made it feel less urban than it was. Very short drive to everything on our list to see in Asheville.
Lovely vintage building with friendly staff, great included perks like evening wine and snacks, and delicious breakfast options. Some quirks to be expected like occasionally creaky floors and a bit of a tight squeeze with luggage in the old-style gated elevator but absolutely would stay again when in Asheville. Do be prepared to hustle on around back to get the car and bring it around if you are travelling with anyone with difficulty walking. Neigborhood was quaint, quiet, and safe and there are walkable options for lunch and dinner nearby as well.

We appreciate your staying with us and for writing a review. The elevator is part of the historic charm here for sure; it was added in the 50's when the hotel became a retirement home! We are pleased you enjoyed our location and friendly staff and hope to see you again!

Charming!

Pros: The room was very comfortable and cozy and the breakfasts were excellent!
Cons: The bathroom was new, but small, with very limited space for toiletries. made getting ready in am more time consuming.
Location: Nice location but needed to drive everywhere.

Perfection in Asheville

Posted Oct 8, 2016
Pros: Intimate, both quaint and stylish, attention to detail and client needs.
Cons: We were sorry we had to ask for decaf coffee in the morning, but once we did -- it was served.
Location: Easy mile walk to busy section with other hotels and lots of restaurants. But you will be glad you are in a quieter neighborhood.

Elegant and friendly

Posted Sep 29, 2016
Pros: The Princess Anne has a unique blend of hotel privacy and B&B extras....just right for us.
Location: Location was prime, with easy access to dining and shopping.
This hotel is a gem in a bustling southern resort town. We were pampered in old world charm and felt we more than got our money's worth. The breakfasts were scrumtuous and generous; the afternoon wine and appetizers an unexpected bonus; and the many courtesies delightful. The location was central, with easy access to dining and shopping while being in a quiet neighborhood.

Noisy, creaky...some may feel that's charming

Posted Sep 7, 2016 on Orbitz
Old, creaky, musty, noisy, lots of echo in hall. Sone may feel it's part of the charm. More b+b then hotel.

Thank you for staying with us and for your feedback. The hotel was built in 1924 and is on the National Register of Historic Places, so it does indeed have the original hardwood floors, as well as many other original aspects. As you mention, most guests enjoy the historic characteristics of the inn as well as the complimentary breakfast and wine and hors d'oeuvres hour that are similar to how a b&b functions. Apologies that you did not enjoy your stay at our property!
