Lovely historic resort

Posted Sep 24, 2017
Pros: The views, the history, the architecture, the energy.
The Inn was super busy with several conventions...we didn't stay long enough to enjoy all the ammenities. Dinner at the Sunset Terrace was wonderful and worth the late afternoon sun/heat. Dress for the weather! Will definitely be making a longer trip back!

Great stay!

Heading out of Miami due to hurricane Irma. I always wanted to visit Asheville. After 1 k miles this hotel was amazing, one of the best spas in the USA and a great golf course. Only thing is price.

Amazing time!

Posted Sep 11, 2017
We loved spending our time at the grove park inn! The beds were comfy cozy, food and entertainment was wonderful and the spa was amazing! Our only complaints was that valet was an extra charge and so was having someone to take your bags to your room, and the spas service for drinks were not up to bout standards. But overall our stay was amazing and we will most definitely be back!!!!!!

Wonderful resort world class spa

Posted Sep 7, 2017
I was only supposed to stay one night at the Omni but ended up staying for three nights. I did opt for the club floor - which is 21 and over and has a private concierge and is a separate floor. The bonuses including daily breakfast and nightly cocktail hour was terrific. The spa is a must for anyone looking to relax. You don't have to book any services as the spa itself is pure relaxation. The staff is phenomenal from the moment you arrive their concern is making the guests happy and comfortable. I didn't get a chance to see their fitness center as the smaller gym next to the spa was perfect. The food and options for dining fit every need and I couldn't have asked for a more wonderful experience

Take a step back into a classy old hotel

Posted Sep 3, 2017
We went for a birthday. It was very grand. We did the self parking as they have valet. But we were greeted st the door and we were very nicely upgraded to a bigger room with a mountain view. We overlooked the 18th hole of the golf corse with the mountains in the background. They had these grand fireplaces and anyone who uses a device to calculate your steps, you will get many. The views are wonderful. The restaurant is way over priced. But that's me being practical. We did have some small stuff and it was however good. They had a piano bar that we went to and sang our lungs out. All and all fun for the night we stayed with our friends.

Bad experience in a nice setting

Posted Sep 1, 2017
Staff was not friendly. Didn't get someone to get our order after we sat for more than half an hour at the terrace bar outside to watch the sunset. If you have a pet don't bother booking a room with a view as you will end up at a low level facing a parking lot. Given the vast ground around the hotel, I expected there will be more than a patch of green with pine needles around it to walk the dog. The pool pictures are misleading as these are only available if you book a spa package or pay $85 per day per person and not for kids. The available pools need a shuttle to get to it and is very basic. I put a dirty pillow on the floor to be cleaned only to find it back on the bed after house cleaning.

Beautiful hotel near the Appalachian mountains

Posted Aug 30, 2017
We arrived, and we were upgraded to a room with a king size bed, however it took away the view which was disappointing. The hotel and grounds where absolutely beautiful the scenery was spectacular and breathtaking. Food was amazing but highly overpriced. Staff was very accommodating and professional

Unique 19th cent. hotel w/ gorgeous mountain views

Posted Aug 27, 2017
Pros: The stones, the enormous fireplaces, the views, the furniture, the staff---everything!
They have elevator operators! We were there for the eclipse, so the hotel was booked solid and full of some demanding customers. Nevertheless, staff was attentive and cheerful. Our room had a beautiful view and was furnished--as is the whole original part of the hotel--with charming Arts & Crafts-inspired furniture. Make sure you have cocktails on the verandah one evening!!

Beautiful stone Historic Hotel

Posted Aug 27, 2017
We were in the western North Carolina area to get closer to the totality zone of the solar eclipse. Always love Asheville and the mountains surrounding it. The hotel is fairly pricey and I actually used some travel discounts to bring the cost of my room lower. I was disappointed that the spa pool was over 80 bucks per person per day but I guess they keep the price that high to weed out children and the louder sending that typically accompanies poolside. They did have two other pools one outside and one in the sports complex to visit for free Hotel staff was wonderful. A lot of liquor being drank that this place. Did see a few people that were fairly tipsy but they rained their behavior in. The live entertainment in the lobby was wonderful in the evenings. Valet parking was reasonable at $22 all in all a beautiful place.
