Family-friendly apartments in Asheville
A perfect location for exploring downtown Asheville! This beautiful two bedroom apartment is located in the upstairs of our huge home built in 1907. The elevated, private location is the reason our guests have named it the Tree House. A charming, roomy studio is the centerpiece of this attractive space.

If you like walking, you can get to the Civic Center for a show in about 10 minutes, or walk downtown in about 12 to 15 minutes. There are three state-of-the-art grocery stores within about a five minute walk. Trader Joe's, Harris Teeter and Greenlife Grocery are all just up the block. The Montford neighborhood just across Broadway has some gorgeous restored homes and a nice park, and the Visitor's Center is within easy walking distance. A walk down the beautiful Reed Creek Greenway leads to the Botanical Gardens at Asheville and Mullen Park at the entry to UNC Asheville.

The studio has a large window at the end so you have lots of light. One guest stayed about a month and described it as the perfect yoga room. An open floor plan gives you lots of space in the living area.

The front bedroom faces Chestnut Street and you can see some of downtown Asheville from the window. It's a good sized room with hardwood floors, and an old fireplace (it's out of service but still adds character). There is a nice dresser and a closet so you will have plenty of storage for your clothes. It is very cheery and bright. There's a super comfortable queen size bed that has been described by one guest as "the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in".

The middle bedroom is a bit smaller and features a the same brand of bed. There is a dresser and a closet in this bedroom as well, and the window overlooks the side yard, the downstairs porch and Fulton Street.

The bathroom is spacious and well lit by a large window and two light fixtures. It has a tub with tiled shower and a shower curtain.

Please note that this is an old house, and it's located on a fairly busy street. There is no off-street parking, so please be careful and aware of traffic. There are a lot of steps to navigate, with a set of twelve to get to the front walkway. Then another five up to the porch and seventeen more after you enter the front. There is no stove thanks to City of Asheville rules. These rules also prohibit whole house rentals, and this is a "homestay" which means we live downstairs. This is not the place to stay if you are looking for anything shiny and new. It's a grand old house with some older fixtures. Most of our guest find it charming, but it is not for everyone so please consider this before you rent. We want our guests to be happy and have a great experience, so if you have questions or concerns please feel free to email or call.

Thanks and enjoy your stay in Asheville!

Amazing Asheville Hospitality
Had such a wonderful long weekend and absolutely loved getting to know the owners and their adorable dogs. Walking distance to downtown to shops, restaurants, cocktails and breweries. Would definitely come back here next time I'm in Asheville in order to spend more time at this lovely place with the best hospitality around!

Cute old house, but creepy neighbor
Rental is the second story of an old house, just as describe. The place is cute and cozy. If you have a larger vehicle, be warned, the streets in this area are narrow and parking is somewhat limited. We ended up parking a about a block away. What bothered me was the creepy neighbor on the other corner. As we parked, he took our photo and then proceeded to stare as we unloaded our things. As a female, this made me extremely uncomfortable.

Private space walking distance from downtown and groceries
This property is just as described. It’s an upstairs walk up two bedroom apartment with plenty of room to relax, dine, and easily walk to the downtown area (about a 15 min walk at most). Very lovely, clean and comfortable. Not a fancy place if that’s what you’re looking for. Barely saw the owners who live downstairs but he was friendly, helpful and accommodating. Easy street parking. Would definitely recommend!
