Into the Woods

Posted Sep 27, 2017
Pros: Rustic woodiness
Cons: Better mattress and another chair in the room. The ones provided were great for lounging but not for playing cards.
Location: Only there for one night, so really didn't explore. Hiking, fishing.
Wandering in Oregon and making reservations as we go. This Inn was described as rustic and they were correct. We drove through Ashland and kept driving and driving, deeper into the forest. A long and winding road, to arrive at the Inn. Graciously greeted, the room was clean, the WiFi signal strong and ......no television! It was a novel surprise that we really appreciated after being on the road for 10 days. The mattress sagged a little but that was really the only fault we could find. Good shower, heater. I'm so glad it was included in the lodging for Ashland, because we never would have found this on our own. Truly off the beaten track but quiet, woodsy, and the sourdough pancakes in the restaurant were incredible!

Eclipse time

Posted Aug 26, 2017
Pros: Surroundings. Restaurant. Cabin.
Cons: Housekeeping! All the way to the top loft - bed not changed.
Location: Hike.
We loved the surroundings, restaurant , and cabin. Housekeeping missed changing the loft bed - pillows slept on and covers thrown back. The rest of the cabin was great.

Sorry about the missed loft bed. Thanks for letting us know. We depend on feedback like this to keep our housekeepers on their toes.

It was such a cozy and nice inn. The staff was very friendly and always willing to help. The in house restaurant made dining convenient. I'd definitely recommend it to all.

We absolutely loved it!

Posted Aug 25, 2017
We stayed at Green Springs Inn & Cabins on our way up north for the solar eclipse and really enjoyed our stay. The room was incredibly comfortable, with spa tub... great for the price. The property is really pretty, especially with fairy lights on at night, and we saw a few deer roaming around. The restaurant is adorable with a great selection of food with good portions. I absolutely loved their selection of freshly baked pies! But the best thing about this place is how friendly and lovely the people are who run it and work in the restaurant. I highly reccomend this staying at Green Springs Inn and Cabins.

Loved it! (Read if you are seeing a show)

Posted Jun 29, 2017 on Hotels
We LOVED it! Adorable, quaint cabins secluded up at the top of a hill in Ahsland. The only down fall for us, and this is not the hotels fault as we should have done better research before booking, was we were on a road trip and only in town for one night and wanted a place to sleep after seeing a show. We planned to check in, change quickly catch the show, sleep there then continue on our trip. We didn't do our research well enough and it was over a 30 minute drive up a steep and very narrow long winding road from the theaters to the cabin. (This was not fun for the passenger who gets car sick.) We arrived, checked in, changed, then had to jump right in the car to go back down the hill to make the curtain and take the road again in the dark after the show. Again, not the hotels fault, but this property is clearly the destination, not where you just want to sleep and rest between shows or just for one night. Other positives: The most comfortable beds and linens I have ever encountered in a hotel. Charming restaurant with a wrap around patio, fantastic food including home made Marionberry jam and eggs from the chickens on property. Wonderful service on all levels. Over breakfast we were planning our trip to come back next year, spend more time on property and enjoying the surroundings. Cannot wait to go back!

Thanks for your comments. We wish that Expedia and Hotels.com would describe our location to folks who use their third party booking service. Unfortunately they can't seem to fine tune their corporate machinery. You will find directions, accurate descriptions of our property and a reservation page at a certain place on the web whose address I dare not mention.

Nice Hotel on top of the Southern Oregon Cascades

Posted Jun 29, 2017
Pros: The property is nice, the room was mostly clean, except for one overlooked pillow case.
Cons: The room needs upgrades, such as the a/c working and the shower water handle needing to be fixed. The waitstaff needs to be aware of food allergies.
Location: The quiet of the woods was nice. There are nearby lakes and a snowpark. Ashland is only about 20 miles away. Mt. Ashland in winter is about 45 mins
Our in room air conditioner didn't work, but the temperature outside was comfortable. One of the throw pillows on the bed had some dried something on it, that came from a body, but the rest of the room was very clean. The shower handle was partially broken and was difficult to get the water temperature right. There are no TVs in the rooms, which we new prior to going, as they weren't listed among amenities and the wi-fi kept going off and on, so streaming wasn't an option. Overall the location is beautiful, that staff are friendly and the core mission of the place is to help them pay off the place, which they saved a forest of 100 year old trees on 145 acres from being logged. It's a beautiful western forest at about 4,300 feet. There are three dams nearby for fishing or other activities. In the winter there is a snow park nearby as well. The highway going up from Ashland is windy and steep and a little further than the advertised 12 miles from SOU. It may be 12 air miles, but it is 19 miles by road. We had a wonderful breakfast there. However I am gluten intolerant, so the first night when we ate dinner at the restaurant, the waitress did not convey or the cook did not make my meal gluten free, as I had alerted the waitress when ordering, so I had to wait for my meal to be re-cooked while my wife ate hers. It kinda disrupted the flow and they didn't make any adjustments to the bill, which didn't make us happy. We spent a couple of nice days down in Ashland.
