Budget Motel For Ashland Entertainment

Posted Jul 27, 2017
Pros: Price and location
Cons: A bigger room.
Location: Ashland's central bike path is just over the freeway from the motel and that leads just bikes to the downtown in about 15-20 mins.
I recommend the motel for a budget traveler who wants to get the most out of their entertainment dollar. The motel is a 15-20 min bike ride to the Shakespeare Festival where you can literally chain a bike to the fence right outside the theater doors, which saves on parking and walking distance to theater - once car is parked. The room is small with a refrigerator, microwave, bed, desk, AC unit and TV. It's no place to stay except to sleep. No bed bugs. I asked the staff, which consists of a married couple only I think, for a wake up call to get to an early morning rafting trip on the Rogue, but even when they said they would, there was no wake up call, so bring an alarm or be lucky enough like me to get up on time. If this were my only vacation this year, I would've stayed at a better place -more relaxing because despite the motel name you can hear other travelers through the wall -arguing, noises from make-up sex, then arguing again. But, I decided to see as many plays as possible, mountain bike, raft the rogue and still have resources to enjoy another vacation later in the summer.

Which is worse? Scary or filthy? This has both!

Posted Jun 5, 2017
Pros: The bed itself comfortable and the sheets were clean, or at least still had the creases in them to indicate cleanliness.
Cons: A thorough steam cleaning might help.
Location: Off the highway and very far from downtown. The only thing within walking distance is other hotels, which I recommend checking into.
This place is filthy. There was a thick layer of dust on everything not covered in a quick sweep through: bed posts, lamp switches, outlet covers, bathroom. Ants were very active near the refrigerator, though thankfully(?) they stayed in that corner of the room. The room itself was tiny, claustrophobic with very low ceilings (I'm short and even I felt hemmed in) and made of cinder blocks for a very prison cell-like feel.

Relax Inn basic but I appreciated it

This was a basic room, but clean and neat. Had wifi and fridge, and a great price. Well-located for rest of Ashland.

This hotel is an affordable place to stay for a quick stopover. The rooms are very small but functional. It had a small refrigerator which was convenient, a new flat screen TV and is next door to a very good Mexican restaurant. It could have been cleaner, there was hair in the bathtub! At first we thought it was going to be too noisy to sleep, then we discovered that the window was open 12". We would stay there again, you can't beat the price.

Couldn't recommend

I paid for the stay on Hotel.com and they said they weren't paid and made me pay again before I could check out. Now I have to deal with Hotel.com to get a refund. Not cool.

Rooms were dirty, cobwebs in ALL corners of room, Manager or Owner Not sure what he was, very female unfriendly, He stared down my wife and daughter. I will NEVER stay there again not even for free and I will never recommend this place to anyone!

Good value.

While this motel looks a little rough on the outside, the room was fine- cleanly painted, new carpet, bathroom clean, frig & microwave. Near lots of stores & a walk to the beach. Very nice woman managing. For an inexpensive stay, a fine deal.
