Hidden gem
This is my new favorite place to stay in Aspen! It’s definitely an older hotel, but the charm is definitely there. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The pool was warm and clean. I was also pleasantly surprised by the quality of the continual breakfast. There was plenty of fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal and bagels. The location was perfect. You can easily walk to town or to the trail system.

Value option for Aspen
The hotel is one of the cheapest options in Aspen so one should take this into consideration. My room was very outdated and a few things needed repair. The staff was extremely responsive to try to fix these things. The breakfast was an upgraded Continental style and was included in the price. There was also coffee and wine reception provided which was a nice touch, the noise level was pretty high, but luckily everybody went to sleep at a reasonable hour I was by myself, so the room was large enough, but I would question whether more than one person would be comfortable in the room

Thank you for your feedback and glad overall you enjoyed your stay. That room is schedule to have an all new bathroom put in next spring. We have completed 10 of our 13 rooms. When the bathrooms are done it is a very nice improvement. No plans at this time to gut the bedroom areas, ie new wall finishes! This room is set for a max of 3 people but 2 is usually still comfortable. Yes, the old lodge rooms, built 1960-1970 were usually about 250 sqft, compared to the typical size today of around 300-350. Again thank for your feedback and if you return that room type will have a new tile bathroom/walk-in shower..

Staff was friendly but my room needed updated terribly. Room was way too hot . and very dreary and old. Shower was amazing and room was clean. Coffee pot but no coffee or tea so why have it?

That unit had the new bathroom put in, but really can't do much with the rest of the Interior unless the Owner wants to strip everything down to the studs and put in new walls. We have the coffee pots in the rooms in case some people want to buy & make their own coffee, rather then coming to the lobby for free coffee. People actually bring the coffee pot to the lobby and fill it up. Again thank you for staying with us.

While the front office service is excellent, the hotel itself is a bit rundown and has paper thin walls. Conversations from adjacent rooms could be heard very clearly.

The Moritz had one of the most affordable rooms around town. I chose one of the hostel type private rooms with shared bathrooms and let tell you that it was a great experience. I did not spend much time in the room but my night sleep was very good. There was a little window i was able to open to let fresh air come in. The day i stayed in Aspen was cold at night so it felt confortable. In summeer it would be a different story as I think there is no AC only fans. Front staff performance was half and half meaning the Guy in the front desk was very very nice and the woman was not so so nice. Breakfast was ok to survive and the coffee could be a bit better. Lobby and amenities seemed very nice. Other guests were very friendly too. Location is top close to everything. Again the guy in the front desk was very nice and attentive.

Great stay
Very good stay. The room was spacious and had a fully equipped kitchen. The location is great - not too far from the main part of the town, and not too close to get a lot of noise. The staff was super friendly and helpful as well.
