one of the best choice for such the price

Posted Aug 12, 2015
I found the location splendid. You can see the common NY in its proper haipostasis with its inhabitants. At the same time there are only few stations up to the most well-known places and cityscapes of Manhattan. The rooms are quite small but tolerable. Lift is absent. The breakfast area is so tiny that you hardly notice it at first. You'd better forget about breakfast. But all that turned out a trifle for us. We were extremely satisfied.

Gutes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis

Posted Jul 6, 2015

Overall good experience

Pros: The price.
Cons: The demeanor of the other receptionists and have a breakfast dining area.
Location: Location was okay: a block away from some hipster bars, ramen, japanese restaurants, etc.
I'll begin by saying that you get what you pay for. Its a 15 minute walk to the subway station and then another 15-20 minutes by train to downtown Manhattan. We found the area to be relatively safe (it was by a high school) but you have to walk a block (a little shady) before you get to a newly gentrifying area (hipster bars, restaurants, groceries, etc). My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week because we were unwilling to spend hundreds of dollars on a hotel in Manhattan. Tania, the receptionist was super friendly and helpful. Some of the other receptionists weren't very nice-- they were dismissive and didn't seem like they cared whether or not you were having a good stay. Some training in basic customer service (smiling, eye contact, proper greetings) would benefit them. Thankfully I mostly had to deal with Tania who again was super friendly/helpful. Rooms were nice and clean-- if you want your sheets/towels replaced you have to tell the front desk which wasn't a big deal. Breakfast consisted of cereals, juice and coffee and they didn't have a dining area (which would have been nice) so in the morning people sort of just crowded by the front desk and ate standing up or sat at one of the few seats meant for the reception area-- but it was complementary so whatevs. Overall it was a pleasant stay. Cheap and relatively close to New York city proper as long as you go in with managed expectations.

Great Service

Posted May 25, 2015 on Hotels
When I made my nonrefundable reservation I got the date wrong by one day. When I discovered my mistake I called the desk and spoke with Tanya. She went out of her way to help me out. I would have been upset but not surprised if they had not honored it and made me pay for a second night. But Tanya set things right. I was very, very grateful. I was checked in by Moses, who was also very helpful. A few years ago I stayed here and was treated rudely. I came back only because my nephew lives next door. I'm glad I did. The hotel is a standard, clean space. My room, 202, was quiet despite facing the main street. If you need to stay in the area, this is a good choice mostly because of staff like Tanya and Moses.

Perfect for the price

Unfortunately it was only for one night stay and the hotel wasn't bad. The rooms were clean, had plenty of hot water and the bed was perfect. Actually the mattress is better than what I have at home.
