Dear Hanna, Thank you for choosing Stratos Vassilikos for your stay in Athens. Your satisfaction makes us even happier and your generous comments shall reach all members of our team. Aiming to our guests' comfort, we have invested on spacious rooms - some with balcony so as to take advantage of the Greek sunny sky - and easy access to monuments of interest, as we are located only 10 minutes away from the nearest metro station, leading to Acropolis and its famous museum. We are sorry that our Greek buffet breakfast did not satisfy you as much. Please note that you have the opportunity to order a dish of your preference to our chefs. We have also placed a show cooking stand in the restaurant so as to cook on the spot, omeletes and crepes with ingredients of your choice. We shall be looking forward welcoming you again to any of Airotel Group of hotels both in Athens and in Patra, or Kavala. KInd regards, Ioanna Daskalopoulou Guest Relations

Wonderful and caring staff

Posted Jan 30, 2017
Pros: Decor, location, friendly staff
Cons: Elevators too small for a claustrophobic person
Location: Walking distance to the plaka and many restaurants nearby
We were in Athens for just a few days, this hotel was perfect. Beautifully done, wonderful location. It has a very real authentic feel. I was sick for most of my stay and the staff was very caring and accommodating. I am pretty sure everyone on staff knew the American woman was sick because once I was able to emerge from the room everyone asked how I was feeling. I got to know my room very very well. I was as comfortable as one could be with a stomach bug. The breakfast buffet was the best I have ever seen, anywhere. I wish I could have utilized it more. The food was above and beyond any and all expectations. If we were to return to Athens we would stay here again without hesitation.

Nice hotel, convenient location, great staff

Posted Dec 12, 2016
Pros: Proximity to Metro and some sightseeing sites, excellent staff, great breakfast, nice amenities
Cons: Room soundproofing to minimize street noise
Location: Walk to: Music Hall, American Embassy and Metro Blue Line Other places: Kolonaki and Lycabettus Hill, Syntagma Square, various Museums
This is the second time we are staying at this hotel, and our experience was similar to the previous one. The hotel is within a short walking distance of the American Embassy, the Music Hall and the Metro blue line. Lycabettus Hill is not much farther. Staff was excellent. Breakfast has a very good variety with the typical fare of cold cuts, cheese, eggs, breads, sweets and tea/coffee/juices, and several local choices, like strained yogurt and yogurt in a clay pot, spanakopita, tyropita, koulouria (sesame seed-covered bread formed in a ring), baklava and loukoumades. Biggest challenge was how to keep myself from eating too much each day! Reception area was very nice, rooms were not super modern, but nice, good amenities, free 1.5Mbps internet with higher speeds available for extra charge, LCD TV. Our room was a bit small (but typical of European hotels) and was facing the front street. We had a nice view of Lycabettus Hill, but the soundproofing was not good. There was car noise from the street, but at night there may be 7-8 cars average per minute, so it was not too bothersome. We could sleep fine, but a light sleeper might find this less desirable. A room facing the back may be a better choice. Overall we had a very nice experience with our stay there.

Perfect! We enjoyed every minute staying there. Also it is walking distance to the city centre. Nice walk indeed to Syntagma square and from there to Plaka.

Excellent stay here

This is a friendly efficient clean hotel a couple of miles out of town but a metro station just a few minutes walk away. My single room was a generous size. Not much of a view but a big south facing sunny balcony. Great value I would say.

The best complimentary breakfast spread ... hotel seems to cater to business travelers. About 10 minute walk to the closest metro stop.

Nice hotel. Located on the edge of the city. Which is good because you can avoid the traffic when you catch a taxi to the airport. 10 min taxi drive to Gazi strip.
