Comodo per visitare Atene

Posted Aug 17, 2016

Friendly, helpful and attractive hotel

Posted Aug 12, 2016
Very helpful concierge for whom nothing was too much trouble. They upgraded us to better rooms for no extra cost. They have an excellent free shuttle bus in to the center which you can return to the hotel on to. Good facilities. Eating in is expensive - beware of buying the bottled water in the roof top restaurant - my wife ended up paying €6 for a bottle. All in all an excellent hotel.

Serene refuge (mostly)

Posted Aug 3, 2016
Pros: Location, food, service
Lobby mobbed when we arrived. Extra front desk people assembled fast to help take care of line. Lots of rude guests cutting ahead. Staff politely pointing to end of line. Finally get through line and lovely hotel rep even joked with us and was very charming during check-in. Got our room, stowed our luggage and went out into the heat (37c) of Athens. Dog-tired when we returned - the A/C felt like a gift from the gods we had just seen in the Acropolis Museum. We ate several times in the hotel having showered and feeling unable to face the heat outside. Food/service were first-class all meals. The hotel is a short walk from Drakou Street where there are many good places to eat. Considering how close the hotel is to Acropolis and Acropolis Museum, Drakou Street, and how good the food is in the lobby restaurants, we think we have found our hotel for all future visits to Athens. (It's a shame about the rude guests, but this is probably the same all over Athens.)

Wonderful hotel in a less-than-ideal location.

Posted Jul 18, 2016
Pros: Spacious, clean rooms and excellent service from the cleaners and room service delivery.
Cons: The pool area felt a bit cramped for a hotel of its size. It felt like almost everyone in the hotel was at the pool during siesta time!
Location: Neighborhood is a bit dodgy, but the metro is very close by to travel to main tourist attractions.
I enjoyed my stay at the Intercontinental immensely. Staff were extremely helpful and spoke impeccable English, we had the option for late check out, and the cleaning staff come by twice everyday. We ordered room service on a couple of nights that we didn't feel like going out, and the food and presentation were great. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable, as well.

Arrived at the hotel several hours before check-in time, but was lucky to have our room already available. We got a family suite and it was pretty spacious. The beds were comfy, bathroom was clean, Wi-Fi connection was good. The hotel was close to the Tram station (about a couple blocks away or less than 5 minute walk) and can take you straight to Syntagma square. Otherwise, you can take a cab which are abundant in front of the hotel. Breakfast was included in our accommodation. It was more than I expected, which was actually good. Several to choose from: pastries, cheese, meats, fruits (dried or fresh), different kind of juices. Loved the smoked salmon and fresh orange juice. Staff was friendly. Provided us what we needed. It would have been perfect if we got a room with the view of Acropolis. If you want a view of the Acropolis, will probably have to request for one. If not, they have a rooftop restaurant that has the awesome view of the Acropolis but has a dress code (no shorts or sandals/flipflops), so make sure you're dressed appropriately.
